Game Highlights:
It was the Jets home opener last night. It was a very windy night at Jets Stadium for the first game of the 2007/2008 campaign. A great crowd was on hand of over 350 people and they enjoyed the 11-10 win by the Jets. Offensively, the Jets were led by Dale Anderson who was 3 for 4 with 4 RBI’s, 4 SB’s, 4 Runs scored, and 2 doubles. Lionel Morrill hit the 1st homerun (a 430 foot shot to left center) at home this season and ended the game 2 for 4. Dustin Thompson was also 1 for 1 with 3 BB’s, 3 SB’s, and 3 runs scored. Overall, the Jets had 11 SB’s in the ball game that was a big difference maker while catcher Josh Stephenson threw out 2 Sask baserunners.
Brandon Petite got the start on the mound and went 4 innings with 3 earned runs, 4 BB’s, and 7 K’s. Tyson Denham threw 1 inning in relief and Jamin Heller got his 1st win as a Jet with 2 very good innings of relief.
The Jets continue with Team Sask at 1 pm today.
