Las Vegas, NV –
The Jets had a great day at Desert Oasis HS. Game 1 saw the Jets lose by a score of 4-2. DO scored 4 runs in the 1st inning with some unfortunate luck but found a way to battle back against the #1 team in the state of Nevada and also the 2018 American Legion World Series runner ups. Adam Macko started on the mound going 2 innings allowing 5 hits, 4 runs with 1 BB and 4 K’s. Chase Florendine threw 3 innings allowing 1 hit with 1 BB and 2 K’s. Thomas Little finished things off going 1 inning allowing 1 BB with 2 K’s. Offensively, the Jets were led by Shayne Campbell who was 2 for 3 with an RBI. Max Grant was 1 for 3 and Evan O’Toole was 1 for 3 with a double. Tough game offensively against a couple of good arms committed to USC next year.
Game 2 saw the Jets take on a good younger squad from DO. The game was tight until the top of the 7th when the Jets scored 5 runs cruising to a 11-4 victory. Tyler Boudreau started on the mound going 1 2/3 innings allowing 2 hits, 4 runs, 2 earned runs with 2 BB’s and 1 K. Matt Wiggins threw 2 1/3 innings allowing 3 hits, 0 runs with 5 K’s and 0 BB’s. Evan O’Toole threw 1 inning allowing 1 hit with 2 K’s. Carlin Dick threw 1 inning allowing 1 hit with 2 K’s. John Vulcano finished things off going the final inning and throwing well.
The Jets will now enjoy a day off and take in the UNLV game vs University of New Mexico before getting back on the field Monday at 10:30 am with practice at CSN.
