Game Highlights:

Game 1 vs Team SK. Game 1 was a low scoring affair. Lionel Morrill led the Academy offensively going 2 for 2 with a double and a long HR to center field and a run scored. Adam Nelubowich was 1 for 3, Steven Inch was 2 for 3 with a double, and Daniel Worb 1 for 3 with a double. On the mound Austin Cooper earned his 2nd win of the season going 5 strong innings giving up 4 hits with 1 BB and 3 K’s. Cole Stober earned the save throwing the final 2 innings

Game 2 vs Team SK. Game 2 saw the Academy giving up a 4 run lead in the final 3 innings. Offensively, the Academy was led by Dale Anderson who was 3 for 4, with a solo HR, 1 RBI, and 2 runs scored. Adam Nelubowich was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles, 1 RBI, and 1 run scored. Josh Stephenson and Chad Northcott were also 2 for 4 as Northcott slugged a double and triple and Stephenson had a double. On the mound Kyle Muzechka started on the mound going 3 innings while only allowing 1 earned run. JC Paquin threw 2 innings of relief with 1 earned run and striking out 4.

Team SK and the Academy square off today again at 11 am.

Game Highlights:

It was the Jets home opener last night. It was a very windy night at Jets Stadium for the first game of the 2007/2008 campaign. A great crowd was on hand of over 350 people and they enjoyed the 11-10 win by the Jets. Offensively, the Jets were led by Dale Anderson who was 3 for 4 with 4 RBI’s, 4 SB’s, 4 Runs scored, and 2 doubles. Lionel Morrill hit the 1st homerun (a 430 foot shot to left center) at home this season and ended the game 2 for 4. Dustin Thompson was also 1 for 1 with 3 BB’s, 3 SB’s, and 3 runs scored. Overall, the Jets had 11 SB’s in the ball game that was a big difference maker while catcher Josh Stephenson threw out 2 Sask baserunners.

Brandon Petite got the start on the mound and went 4 innings with 3 earned runs, 4 BB’s, and 7 K’s. Tyson Denham threw 1 inning in relief and Jamin Heller got his 1st win as a Jet with 2 very good innings of relief.

The Jets continue with Team Sask at 1 pm today.
