Big Sky Juniors vs VBA

Game Highlights:

It was a bit of a windy day in Vauxhall.  Game 1 saw the Jets come back from a 2 run deficit in the bottom of the 7th to win the ball game.  Cole Stober started on the mound and pitched well outside of the walks.  Cole ended the day allowing only 3 runs in 4 innings with 9 K’s but, 7 BB’s.  Tyson Denham and Jamin Heller threw 1 inning each of relief and Kyle Muzechka threw 1 inning in relief to get the win allowing 0 runs.  Offensively the Jets were led again by Dale Anderson who was 4 for 4 with 2 runs scored, 1 2B and a HR with 3 RBI’s.  Tanner Craswell was 2 for 3 with 1 run scored, 1 double and a HR for a total of 3 RBI’s  In total the Jets had 14 hits for the biggest total of the year with 4 HR’s. Tyler Vavra and Jean-Guy Bilodeau also added solo blasts.

In Game 2 saw the Jets hold the game tight until the top of the 7th when Big Sky scored 6 runs.  On the mound Tyler Vavra took the loss going 4 innings and Daniel Worb threw 3 innings of relief.  Dale Anderson led the offense going 2 for 3 with 1 run scored, a double and 2 RBI’s.  Tanner Craswell pitched in with a solo HR as well. 

 Overall the day was a decent day but, the Jets need to throw more strikes as the issued Big Sky 18 BB’s. 

THe next action is next Saturday in Pullman, Washington.

Game Highlights:

In Game 1 vs Big Sky the final score ended up 7-6 in extra innings for Big Sky.  Austin Cooper started on the mound going 5 innings allowing 2 hits, 2 runs, 4 BB’s, and 5 K’s for the no decision.  Tanner Craswell went 2 innings of scoreless innings of relief allowing 0 runs and 2 K’s.  Jamin Heller took the loss in 1 inning of relief.  Offensively, Lionel Morrill was 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored, a double and 1 RBI.  Jean Guy Bilodeau was 1 for 5 with a solo homerun to tie the game in the bottom of the 7th.

In Game 2 saw the Jets play their best game of the year.  Brandon Petite threw 5 very good innings allowing 1 hit, 0 runs, with 8 K’s and 5 BB’s.  Kyle Muzechka threw 2 very good innings of relief allowing 1 hit, 0 runs, 1 BB, and 4 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Mark Clauson who was 1 for 4, with 1 RBI and a 1 run scored.  Dale Anderson was 1 for 2 with a triple and an RBI.  Tyson Denham was 1 for 2 with a run scored and Colin Amendt was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI’s and a double.   Play resumes today with a 11 am double header

Game Highlights:

Today was a better day overall for the Academy. The team came out very flat in the morning game vs PBA and was not able to climb out of a 9 to 0 hole. The final score ended up 9 to 6 and we fought back pretty good considering the older competition. Tyson Denham pitched very well with 4 shutout inning allowing only 3 hits, 2 K’s and 2 BB’s. Daniel Worb also through a scoreless inning in relief. Offensively, we were let by Mark Clauson who was 2 for 4 with a single and double. Jean Guy Bilodeau also swung the bat very well going 2 for 3 with a double and single.

In game 2 vs the U of C, the VAB came out with more jump. Cole Stober pitched fairly well but, allowed 6 BB’s and 4 earned runs in 4 innings to earn the no decision. Daniel Worb took the loss on the mound. Offensively, Lionel Morrill was 2 for 3 with a double and single and 2 RBI’s. Dale Anderson was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and Daniel Worb was 1 for 4 with a triple. The game was very tight throughout as the VAB led after 5 inning by a score of 6 to 4 but, the U of C battled back and won the game in the bottom of the 7th inning.

The VAB’s home opener is next Friday night at 7 pm vs Team SK Selects.

Game Highlights:

In the first ballgame it was a combination of the PBA playing very well and the VAB playing tenative. We played a little scared against the college players in all areas of the game. Offensively, we were led by Chad Northcott who was 2 for 3 with a stolen base.

In game 2 we came out a lot better. Tyler Vavra got the no decision on the mound going 3.3 innings allowing only 1 earned run but, 5 walks. Austin Cooper pitched very well in relief dispite getting the loss. Cooper went 3 innings allowing 2 hits, 1 earned run, with 4 strikeouts. Offensively, we were led by Tyson Denham who was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and an RBI. Lionel Morrill also chipped in with 2 singles and an RBI. Tomorrow, JC Paquin will start Game 1 and Cole Stober will start game 2.
