Lethbridge, AB –
It was certainly not ideal conditions for baseball in Lethbridge 80 plus km winds. Game 1 saw an older and talented PBA group score 7 in the 3rd and cruise to a 12-0 victory. Game 2 saw a much tighter ball game with the PBA holding onto a late lead winning by a score of 7-6.
Game 1 saw Ben Erwin start on the mound going 2 1/3 innings allowing 8 hits, 7 runs, 5 earned runs with 2 BB’s and 1 K. KJ Moreno followed Erwin throwing 1 2/3 innings allowing 4 hits, 4 runs, 2 earned runs with 1 K and 1 BB. David Richards finished things off going 2 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 run with 2 K’s. Offensively, the Jets were led by Jordan Dray who was 2 for 3. Jordan Malainey was 1 for 4 and Damiano Palmegiani rounded out the offense going 1 for 3.
Game 2 saw the Jets outhit the Dawgs 10-7 but fell 7-6 on the scoreboard. Wesley Moore started on the mound going 3 innings allowing 7 hits, 6 earned runs with 2 BB’s. Conner Green followed up Moore throwing 2 1/3 inning with 2 K’s and 3 BB’s. Bryce Fraser finished things off striking out the only batter he faced.
Offensively, the Jets were led by Brett Resch who was 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Liam Vulcano was 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Jordan Malainey was 1 for 4. Jordan Dray was 1 for 2 with 2 RBI’s. Matt Rath was 1 for 1. Victor Cerny was 2 for 4 with and RBI. Shawn Grandmont rounded out the offense going 1 for 2 with a triple.
