The Jets won both game of their double header today vs Baseball Northwest Juniors by scores of 13-12 and 9-2.
Game 1 saw Cole Stober start and get the no decision going 4 innings allowing 3 hits, 3 BB’s, 7 K’s, 3 runs with only 2 earned. Jamin Heller threw the next 2 1/3 innings allowing 5 hits, 4 BB’s, 0 K’s and 8 earned runs. Taylor Simmonds earned the victory in relief going the final 2/3 of a inning allowing 1 hit, 2 BB’s, 2 K’s with 1 run. Offensively, the Jets were led by Kym Barthel who was 2 for 2 with a HR, 3 RBI’s, 3 BB’s and 3 runs scored. Adam Nelubowich was 2 for 5 with a triple and 3 RBI’s. Josh Stephenson was 2 for 3. Tyler Hayes, Shane Zimmer, Mike Washburn, Steven Inch and Victor Caruso all had 1 hit a piece.
Game 2 saw the Jets win by a score of 9-2. Taylor Simmonds earned the victory on the mound going 3 innings, allowing 0 hits, 2 BB’s, with 7 K’s. Victor Caruso went 3 innings, allowing 3 hits, 0 BB’s, 3 K’s, and 2 earned runs. Tyson Denham threw the final inning allowing 1 hit, 2 BB’s, and 0 runs. Offensively, the Jets were led by Kym Barthel who was 2 for 5 with 1 RBI, Adam Nelubowich was 2 for 4 with 1 RBI, Jordan Wong was 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored and Brant Hittel was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored. Tyler Hayes, Shane Zimmer, Jamin Heller, Tyler Vavra, and Ben Dartnell all had 1 hit each.
The wins pushes the Jets record to 12-2-1. Next action is tomorrow at WSU’s field at 11 am (DH) vs Baseball Northwest Seniors.
