The VAB Jets played the PBA JV today and it turned out to be a close game in the cold conditions. The Jets dominated the entire game except for 7 run 8th inning that allowed PBA to get on the board. The Jets were up 9 to 0 in the 8th when PBA battled their way back into the game. Austin Cooper was very good in his 2nd start going 4 innings allowing 2 hits, 0 runs, with K’s and no BB’s. Tyler Vavra threw 3 scoreless innings of relief allowing 4 hits with 3 K’s and no BB’s. Dale Anderson recorded his first save of the season with 3 K’s in a scoreless 9th inning. Offensively, the Jets were led by Lionel Morrill who was 3 for 4 with 4 SB’s and and 1 RBI. Tanner Craswell was 1 for 3 with 3 SB’s and 2 RBI’s. The turning point of the crazy 8th inning was Kyle Muzechka who came in relief with the winning run at the plate and struck out the #4 hitter for PBA on 3 pitches. Tomorrow the Jets will return to action in Lethbridge at 1pm (DH).
