The VAB Jets took a little while to get going on a tough LHP from Oyen in game 1. The score was 3-3 in the 5th until the Jets scored 2 in the 5th and 6th to win 7-3. Nelson Quark started on the mound going 4 innings allowing 6 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned run with 3 BB’s and 6 K’s. Nathan Haroldson earned the victory in relief going 3 innings allowing 2 hits, 1 run with 2 BB’s and 2 K’s. Offensively, the Jets were led by Chris Thibideau who was 2 for 4. Jager Toffan was 2 for 4 with a double. Anthony McKinley was 1 for 3 with a 2 run HR. Nolan Bumstead was 2 for 3 with a HR and 3 RBI’s. Brayden Resch was 1 for 1 with an RBI. Treyton Grant rounded out the offense going 2 for 4 with an RBI.
Game 2 saw the Jets offense show up early and often on route to a 17-4 victory. Nick Stobbe started on the mound going 4 innings allowing 2 hit, 2 BB’s with 4 K’s. Pat Machibroda finished things off going 2 innings allowing 5 hits, 4 runs, 2 earned runs with 1 BB.
Offensively, the Jets were led by Chris Thibideau who was 3 for 4 with a HR, 2 doubles and 3 RBI’s. Joel Mazurkewich was 1 for 3 with an RBI and a double. Jager Toffan was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Anthony McKinley was 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI’s. Nolan Bumstead was 1 for 3 with an RBI. Justin Clarkson was 1 for 2 with an RBI. Jose Calderon was 3 for 4 with a double, HR and 4 RBI’s. Brett Harrison was 1 for 4 with an RBI and Treyton Grant finished things off going 1 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI’s.
The Jets will play host to the Great Falls Chargers tomorrow at 12 noon (DH).
