It was a beautiful 33 degree day in Vegas to open the Bishop Gorman Easter Classic. Game 1 saw the Jets open the tournament vs North Shore Twins winning by a score of 3-2.
JP Stevenson started on the mound going 6 innings on 65 pitches allowing 5 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned run with 1 BB and 2 K’s. Josh Burgemann closed things out earning the save throwing 1 inning with 1 K. Offensively, the Jets stranded 12 runners in scoring position throughout the final 5 innings. Wyatt Schlosser was 1 for 3. Nolan Rattai was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s. Nolan Bumstead was 2 for 3 with a triple and an RBI. Brayden Resch was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Trey Grant was 1 for 3 with an RBI. Tyler Scott rounded out the offense going 1 for 3.
Game 2 saw the Jets take on National Powerhouse Bishop Gorman HS losing 11-1. The score was 3-1 in the 5th inning before Gorman exploded for 5 runs to shorten the game . Ben Onyshko started on the mound throwing 4 great innings allowing 7 hits, 6 runs, 5 earned runs with 1 BB and 5 K’s. Nolan Bumstead threw 2/3 of an inning allowing 3 hits, 5 unearned runs with 1 BB and 2 K’s. Offensively, the Jets were led by Nolan Rattai who was 1 for 3. Brayden Resch was 2 for 3 with a double and 1 RBI to round out the offense.
