Jets split with PBA to take the series!

Vauxhall, AB –

Game 1 saw the Jets come from behind to win in extra innings 7-6 before an injury to Game 2 starting pitcher forced the position players to make their debut falling 17-4.

Bryce Fraser started on the mound going 4 1/3 innings allowing 4 hits, 4 runs, 1 earned run with 7 BB’s and 2 K’s.  Jalen Lane got the win in relief going 3 2/3 innings allowing 4 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned run with 2 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Jordan Dray who was 3 for 5.  Brett Resch was 2 for 5.  Damiano Palmegiani was 1 for 4.  Tyler Wood was 2 for 4.  Shawn Grandmont was 3 for 5 with 2 RBI’s including the walkoff in the bottom of the 8th.  Jared Binsfeld was 1 for 3 and Liam Vulcano was 1 for 3.

Game 2 saw the Jets pitchers give up 17 runs with only 8 earned on 4 BB’s and 2 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Jordan Malainey who was 1 for 2.  Damiano Palmegiani was 2 for 2 with 2 doubles and an RBI.  Reed Odland made his Jets debut going 1 for 2 to round out the offense.

The Jets are in action next Saturday in Great Falls, Montana vs Missoula and Great Falls.

It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Vauxhall.  The Jets came out ahead in game 1 11-7 over PBA JV and in game 2 7-6.  Game 1 saw Ben Erwin start on the mound going 5 innings allowing 6 hits, 3 runs with 4 BB’s and 4 K’s.  Garrett Nicholson threw 1 inning allowing 2 hits with 4 BB’s and 4 runs.  Shawn Grandmont earned the save throwing 1 inning allowing 1 BB with 2 K’s.  Offensively the Jets were led by Matt Rath who was 1 for 4 with an RBI.  Tyler Wood was 1 for 2 with a double and an RBI.  Brett Resch was 3 for 3 with a double.  Damiano Palmegiani was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI.  Shawn Grandmont was 1 for 3.  Jordan Malainey was 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI.  Jared Binsfeld rounded out the offense going 2 for 4 with 3 RBI’s.

Game 2 saw the Jets fall behind 4-0 early and battled back to win 7-6.  Brandon Hatley started going 5 innings allowing 3 hits, 2 BB’s with 5 K’s and 4 runs.  Conner Green earned the win going 2 innings with 4 BB’s and 1 K.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Tyler Wood who was 1 for 3.  Jordan Dray was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI’s.  Liam Vulcano was 2 for 2.  Shawn Grandmont was 1 for 3.  Matt Rath was 1 for 3 with a double.  Jordan Malainey was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI’s.  Jared Binsfeld rounded out the offense going 1 for 3 with a double.

The Jets will meet up with PBA again tomorrow at Jets Stadium at 1 pm (DH).

Jets give up to many free passes falling 11-3!

Kamloops, BC – 

The game was tied after 2 innings and the Jets held a 3-1 lead after 3 innings eventually falling 11-3 after 6 innings.  It was certainly a tough day on the mound and defensively for the Jets allowing 15 BB’s and 5 errors.  Wesley Moore started on the mound going 3 innings allowing 0 hits, 5 runs, 3 earned runs with 6 BB’s and 4 K’s.  Ben Erwin followed things up going 1 2/3 innings allowing 2 hits, 4 uneared runs with 3 BB’s and 3 K’s.  Garrett Nicholson finished the game going 1 1/3 innings allowing 1 hit, 2 runs on 4 BB’s and 3 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Victor Cerny who was 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI.  Jordan Malainey was 1 for 2 with a an RBI.  Liam Vulcano rounded out the offense going 1 for 3 with an RBI.

The loss was a tough one but the Jets will still advance to the semi-final vs Langley at 9:15 am Norbrock.

Jets get back on track at BOW with 2 victories!

The Jets found their backs against the wall with a 5-1 deficit in the 5th inning before coming from behind to beat White Rock 7-5.  Brandon Hatley started and threw well going 4 innings allowing 6 hits, 5 runs, 3 earned runs allowing 3 BB’s with 4 K’s.  Bryce Fraser threw 3 innings allowing 1 hit with 2 K’s and 1 BB.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Jordan Dray who was 1 for 3.  Victor Cerny was 2 for 4.  Damiano Palmegiani was 2 for 4 with an RBI.  Jordan Malainey was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI’s.  Ben Erwin was 2 for 3 with an RBI to round out the offense.

Game 2 saw the Jets jump out early cruising to a 9-1 victory.  Josh Burgmann started on the mound and was very good going 5 innings allowing 2 hits, 1 run with 2 BB’s and 4 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Matt Rath who was 1 for 4 with an RBI.  Jordan Dray was 1 for 3.  Victor Cerny was 2 for 3 with a double.  Damiano Palmegiani was 2 for 3 with a triple and 2 RBI’s.  Jordan Malainey was 2 for 3 with an RBI.  Liam Vulcano was 1 for 2.  Spencer Rankin was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Tyler Wood rounded out the offense going 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s.

Next action for the Jets is tomorrow at Norbrock vs Okotoks.

Jets come out flat in Kamloops to open BOW!

Kamloops, BC –

The Vauxhall Academy didn’t play well in all aspects of the game to open the BOW!  The North Delta Blue Jays scored in every inning but one cruising to an 8-1 victory.   Carsen Perkins started on the mound going 2 1/3 innings allowing 4 hits, 4 hits, 3 runs, 1 earned run with 3 BB’s and 4 K’s.  Jalen Lane threw 1 2/3 innings allowing 2 hits, 3 runs with 2 BB’s and 2 K’s.  Conner Green threw 2 innings allowing 1 hits, 1 unearned run with 1 BB and 1 K.  KJ Moreno finished things off going 1 inning allowing 2 hits, 1 uneared run with 1 BB and 1 K.

Offensively, the Jets only managed 3 hits.  Matt Rath was 1 for 4.  Jordan Dray was 1 for 3 and Tyler Wood was 1 for 3 with a double.

The Jets will match up next with White Rock Titans at 11:30 am at Norbrock.

Jets lose a close one in the semi of Vegas tournie!

Las Vegas, NV – 

The VAB Jets were in a low scoring battle with Newbury Park, CA with the score 0-0 after 4 innings before give up 4 runs in the 5th to fall 4-0.

Ben Erwin started on the mound going 4 innings allowing 3 hits, 0 runs with 4 K’s and 0 BB’s.  Bryce Fraser threw 1 inning allowing 4 hits, 4 runs with 1 BB.  KJ Moreno finished things off going 1 inning with 1 K.

Offensively, the Jets struggled to string anything together mustering on 3 hits.  Victor Cerny finished the game 2 for 3 and Liam Vulcano pitched in going 1 for 2.

Bishop Gorman went on to defeat Newbury Park 5-0 in the final to capture the Championship.

Next up for the Jets is the Best of the West Tournament in Kamloops, BC.  The Jets will open up Thursday vs North Delta, BC.

Jets continue Vegas trip with another victory!

The Jets scored in every inning cruising to a 10-0 victory over Alta, Utah.  Brandon Hatley started on the mound going 5 innings allowing 3 hits, 2 BB’s with 7 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets spread the offense out collecting 10 hits.  Matt Rath was 1 for 2 with an RBI.  Shawn Grandmont was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI.  Jordan Dray was 3 for 3 with a double, triple and an RBI.  Tyler Wood was 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI.  Spencer Rankin was 2 for 2 with a double and an RBI.  Liam Vulcano rounded out the offense going 1 for 1 with 3 RBI’s.

The Jets continue with a match up vs Bishop Gorman Friday night at 7 pm @ UNLV.

Jets open the Bishop Gorman Tournament with a 5-1 victory over Carsen, NV

Carsen Perkins started on the mound striking out the first 2 hitters of the game and the Jets scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning to set the tone.  Final score Jets 5 Carsen, NV 1.  Perkins went 5 innings allowing 2 hits, 1 unearned run with 3 BB’s and 9 K’s.  Jalen Lane finished things off going 2 innings allowing 2 hits with 1 BB and 3 K’s.  Offensiely, the Jets were led by Matt Rath who was 1 for 3.  Jordan Malainey was 2 for 2 with a double and an RBI.  Jordan Dray was 2 for 2 with a double and an RBI.  Victor Cerny was 1 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI’s to round out the offense.

Jets open up in Las Vegas with a convincing victory!

Las Vegas, NV – 

The Jets played an exhibition game vs O’Gorman HS out of South Dakota before starting the Bishop Gorman Desert Classic.

The Jets got out to an early lead and at one point in the game holding an 18-3 lead before settling with an 18-9 score.  David Richards started on the mound going 3 solid innings allowing 4 hits, 3 runs, 1 earned run with 2 K’s and no walks.  Conner Green thru 2 innings allowing 0 hits, 0 runs with 1 BB and 2 K’s.  Garrett Nicholson finished things off allowing 1 hit, 2 earned runs with 5 BB’s and 2 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by a huge day from Shawn Grandmont going 3 for 5 with 2 HR’s and 6 RBI’s.  Matt Rath was 3 for 3 with an RBI.  Jordan Malainey was 1 for 3 with a double.  Jordan Dray was 2 for 5.  Victor Cerny was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI.  Tyler Wood was 2 for 2.  Damiano Palmegiani was 1 for 2 with a triple.  Jared Binsfeld was 1 for 3 with an RBI to round out the offense.

Game 1 vs Twin Falls HS was a great ball game with the Jets coming out on top in extra innings 3-2.  Brandon Hatley started on the mound going 5 innings allowing 5 hits, 2 runs with 3 BB’s and  K’s.  Jalen Lane earned the victory with 3 2/3 innings allowing 0 hits with 2 BB’s and 5 K’s (including striking out the side in the bottom of the 8th with bases loaded).  Offensively, the Jets were led by Jordan Dray who was 1 for 3 with a double.  Victor Cerny was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI.  Spencer Rankin was 2 for 4 with a double.  Tyler Wood was 1 for 4 and Liam Vulcano was 1 for 4.

Game 2 vs Hillcrest HS was a tight ball game until the 6th when Hillcrest scored 5 runs cruising to an 8-1 victory.  Bryce Fraser started on the mound going 5 innings allowing 3 hits, 3 runs, 2 earned runs with 1 BB and 4 K’s.  Garrett Nicholson finished things off allowing 2 hits, 5 runs, 2 earned runs with 1 BB and 2 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets only strike out 1 time but only managed 5 hits with a lot of soft contact.  Jordan Dray was 1 for 3 with a double.  Victor Cerny was 1 for 3.  Jordan Malainey was 2 for 3 and Tyler Wood was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI.

Next action for the Jets is Wednesday March 30th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
