GS Lakie middle school in Lethbridge travelled to Vauxhall to enjoy a day with the Jets.  35 plus students from GS Lakie grades 6 & 7 baseball program toured the baseball facilities, talked about the program, enjoyed lunch, practiced on Jets Stadium and finally joined the Jets with their practice to finish off the day.  The Jets would like to thank Mr. Letsay and Mr. Sawyer as well as the other Lakie staff for travelling to Vauxhall for the day.

Jets take 2 from the Chargers to finish off grad weekend!

Game 1 saw the Jets come out strong and never looked back cruising to a 12-2 victory.  Reilly O’Rourke started on the mound going 4 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 run with 3 BB’s and 4 K’s.  Jake Cook finished things off going 1 inning allowing 1 unearned run with a BB.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Tyler Scott who was 2 for 4.  Brett Resch was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Zack Kunkel was 1 for 3 with a triple and an RBI.  Ben Komonosky was 1 for 4.  Jordan Malainey was 1 for 2 with 2 RBI’s.  Blake Gallagher was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI’s.  Sean Robbins was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI’s and Luxon Glor rounded out the offense going 1 for 3 with an RBI.

Game 2 saw the Jets get 2 runs in the 6th to win 5-3.  Brody Burnett started going 3 innings allowing 3 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned run with a BB and 4 K’s.  KJ Moreno went 2 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 run with 1 BB and 2 K’s.  Jalen Lane earned the win going 2 innings allwing 1 hit with 1 BB and 1 K.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Tyler Scott who was 1 for 4 with an RBI.  Ben Komonosky was 1 for 1.  Jordan Malainey was 2 for 3 with an RBI.  Sean Robbins was 2 for 2 with an RBI.  Luxon Glor finished things off going 1 for 3.

Next action is the Okotoks tournament next weekend.

 

 

Couple good ball games end in a split!

It was a couple of good ball games at Jets Stadium between the Jets and the Okotoks Dawgs.  Game 1 saw Brady Moxham start on the mound going 6 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 run with 7 K’s.  Jared Kennedy earned the save striking out the side in the 7th.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Zack Kunkel who was 2 for 3 with a solo HR.  Jordan Malainey was 1 for 3.  Blake Gallagher was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Sean Robbins rounded out the offense going 1 for 2.

Game 2 saw the out hit the Dawgs but ended up losing 6-5. Josh Burgmann started on the mound going 4 innings allowing 4 hits, 3 runs with 2 BB’s and 7 K’s.  Carsen Perkins threw 2 innings allowing 2 hits, 1 run with 1 BB and 2 K’s.  Jake Cook finished things off going 1 inning with 1 K.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Brett Resch who was 2 for 4.  Zack Kunkel was 1 for 3.  Jordan Malainey was 1 for 4.  Blake Gallagher was 1 for 4.  Geordie McDougal was 1 for 3 with an RBI and Luxon Glor was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s.

Jets split with the Elks!

The VAB was flat in game 1 combined with strong pitching from the Elks resulted in a 3-1 score.  Reilly O’Rourke started on the mound going 4 innings allowing 3 hits, 3 runs, 1 earned run with 2 BB’s and 7 K’s.  Braden Hatley threw 1 inning clean.  Jake Cook finished things off going 2 innings allowing 2 hits with 2 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets only mustered 4 hits with Zack Kunkel going 2 for 3 with an RBI.  Jordan Malainey was 1 for 3 and Jared Kennedy was 1 for 2.

Game 2 saw the Jets come out on top by a score of 9-2.  Brody Burnett earned the win going 5 innings allowing 2 hits, 2 runs with 3 BB’s and 5 K’s.  Jalen Lane went the final 2 innings with 3 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Tyler Scott who was 2 for 4 with an RBI.  Jared Kennedy was 2 for 2 with 2 doubles and an RBI.  Zack Kunkel was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Brett Resch was 1 for 4.  Jordan Malainey was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Blake Gallagher was 1 for 4 and Geordie McDougal was 2 for 3.

Jets take 2 from PBA JV to take the series!

The Jets came out ready to play on beautiful Sunday afternoon. The Jets came out on top 12-5 and 9-5.   Game 1 saw Brandon Hatley get the start on the mound going 4 innings allowing 4 hits, 5 runs, 1 earned run with 3 BB’s and 6 K’s.  Brady Moxham earned the save going 3 innings allowing 2 hits with 6 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Tyler Scott who was 3 for 3 with an RBI.   Zack Kunkel was 3 for 4 with a double and 3 RBI’s.  Brett Resch was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Jordan Malainey was 2 for 4 with a HR and 2 RBI’s.  Blake Gallagher was 2 for 2 with an RBI.  Geordie McDougal was 2 for 4 with an RBI.  Jared Kennedy rounded out the offense going 1 for 3 with an RBI.

Jets run out of gas in the semi-final in Vegas!

Las Vegas, NV – 

The Jets had a good run over a 2 week period but ended up running out of gas against the Okotoks Dawgs in the semi final of the Bishop Gorman tournament.  A combination of some injuries, fatigue and a good Dawgs club combined for an 18-8 final.  The Jets fell behind 9-0 after 2 innings and couldn’t recover.

Reilly O’Rourke started on the mound going 1 inning allowing 6 hits, 6 runs with 1 BB and 2 K’s.  Carsen Perkins threw the following inning allowing 2 hits, 3 runs with 2 K’s.  Jalen Lane was solid in the middle going 3 innings allowing 2 hits, 2 unearned runs with 1 BB and 2 K’s.  KJ Moreno threw an inning allowing 1 hit, 2 unearned runs with 1 K.  Brody Burnett threw the final inning allowing 5 hits, 5 runs with 2 BB’s and 1 K.

Offensively, the Jets were led by Tyler Scott who was 1 for 4.  Zack Kunkel was 1 for 3 with a triple and an RBI.  Brett Resch was 1 for 4.  Ben Komonosky was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI.  Jordan Malainey was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Sean Robbins was 1 for 4 with 2 RBI’s.  Geordie McDougal was 1 for 3 and Luxon Glor was 1 for 3 with an RBI.

The Jets ended an 11 day road trip successfully going 7-2 overall winning the Best of the West and finishing 3rd in Las Vegas.  The Jets will open up their home schedule this weekend vs PBA JV.

Jets shock Bishop Gorman HS with a 5-1 victory!

Las Vegas, NV – 

The Jets had a great game with Bishop Gorman HS who is currently ranked in the top 6 in the US according to Baseball America.  The score was 0-0 after 3 innings, 1 – 0 for Gorman after the top of the 5th before the Jets scored 2 in the bottom of the 5th and added 3 more in the 6th. Josh Burgmann started on the mound against the undefeated Gaels going 5 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 run with 5 BB’s and 6 K’s.  Brady Moxham earned the save going 2 innings allowing 1 hit with 3 K’s.

Offensively, the Jets were led by Brett Resch who had a huge game going 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI’s.  Blake Gallagher was 1 for 3 with a double.  Ben Komonosky was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Jordan Malainey was 1 for 3 with a double.  Sean Robbins was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Luxon Glor rounded out the offense going 1 for 2 with an RBI.

The Jets will play in the semi final tomorrow at 1 pm.  Opponent is yet to be determined.

The Vauxhall Academy scored 3 runs in the 1st and 7 runs in the 2nd en route to a 10-0 victory over Carsen, NV.

Branden Hatley started on the mound going 4 innings allowing 2 hits with 1 BB and 2 K’s.  Brody Burnett finished things off going 1 clean inning.

Offensively, the Jets were led by Tyler Scott who was 1 for 3.  Blake Gallagher was 1 for 4.  Jared Kennedy was 1 for 2.  Jordan Dray was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI’s.  Brett Resch was 3 for 4 with a double and 3 RBI’s.  Jordan Malainey was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Sean Robbins was 1 for 3 and Luxon Glor was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI’s.

Next action for the Jets is 7 pm Friday night at CSN vs Bishop Gorman HS.

Jets open the Gorman tournament with a 6-1 victory!

The Jets opened up the Bishop Gorman Desert Classic with a 6-1 victory over Menlo HS, CA.  Jared Kennedy started on the mound going 6 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 unearned run with 2 BB’s and 7 K’s.  Jake Cook finished things off throwing the final inning with a K.

Offensively, the Jets were led by Zach Kunkel who was 3 for 4 with a triple and 3 RBI’s. Luxon Glor was 3 for 3.  Geordie McDougal was 1 for 3.  Jordan Malainey was 1 for 2 with a double and an RBI.  Jordan Dray rounded out the offense going 1 for 3 with an RBI.
