Jets come out on top in the TCMM Memorial Game 11-5 over the Bulls!

Lethbridge, AB –

Spitz Stadium was filled with emotion, tears, excitement and energy for the 1st Annual Tanner Craswell and Mitch MacLean Memorial baseball game between the VAB and Lethbridge Bulls.  The Craswell family, MacLean family and the lone survivor of the tragedy Shayna Conway were in attendance to Remember the boys!   The Jets also dressed and played several alumni that played with Tanner in Vauxhall.  In total 10 alumni and 21 Jets suited up for the special occasion.

The Jets ran out several pitchers on the special night with grade 11 Brandon Radmacher getting the start and went 3 great innings.  Zach Mayo and Tanner Spencer threw 1 solid inning each in the 4th and 5th.  Alumni Brody McDonald threw 2 solid innings in the 6th and 7th.  Luke Whelpton threw a great 8th and Jets Alumni Brandon closed things out.  The Jets committed 4 errors in the 5th inning that cost the Jets 4 unearned runs was the only blemish on the night.

The Jets pounded out 19 hits on route to the 11-5 victory.  Jager Toffan had a huge night with 3 hits including a big 3 run blast.  Chris Thibideau chipped in with 3 hits as well and flashed great defence.  Anthony McKinley, Guillaume Gingras, Konner Lutz, Mitch McGeein all had hits for the current Jets.  The alumni had very productive night with Tyson Ford leading the game with a single,  Luke Berry stroking a double, Dale Anderson hitting a solo shot and  Adam Nelubowich crushing a double.  A special thank you to best friend of Tanner Craswell – Jordan Duffy who started at 2nd base.  Alumni Jordan Wong caught in the bullpen and Tyler Vavra who brought the crowd to their feet with a pinch hit appearance.

Greg Vavra “Raimont Energy” and Shell Canada were title sponsors of the event with the initial count of over $14,000.00 profit going into the TCMM Memorial Fund.

Keith Craswell was a guest coach with the Jets and was the honorary Head Coach at the home-plate meeting.

Several Lethbridge Little Leaguers were part of the Jets for batting practice and the pre-game festivities.

The victory ends the Jets season with a record of 27 wins – 12 losses – 1 tie.
