No hitter on graduation Saturday!

 

 

Vauxhall, AB – 

The Jets took care of business with a DH vs Badlands Academy on a beautiful graduation Saturday.  Game 1 saw the Jets win by a score of 9-2.  Garrett Hawkins started on the mound going 3 2/3 innings allowing 2 hits, 1 run with 1 BB and 4 K’s.  Reece Keller went 2 solid innings allowing 4 hits, 1 run with 1 BB and 4 K’s.  Evan O’Toole finished things off going 1 1/3 innings allowing 1 hit with 0 runs.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Liam Vulcano who was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles.  Cooper Jones was 2 for 4.  Owen Harms was 2 for 3 with an RBI.  Shayne Campbell was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s.  Evan O’Toole was 2 for 3 with a triple and 3 RBI’s.

Game 2 was a combine NO HITTER between Jaden Griffin and Chase Florendine.  Jaden Griffin started on the mound going 5 innings allowing 0 hits, 1 unearned run with 3 BB’s and 12 K’s.  Chase Florendine finished things off going 2 innings with 1 BB and 2 K’s.  Both pitchers were outstanding on the mound.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Cooper Jones who was 1 for 4 with a double.  Kaiden Cardoso was 1 for 2 with an RBI.  Damiano Palmegiani was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  John Vulcano was 2 for 3.  Josh Malainey was 1 for 1 and Evan O’Toole rounded out the offensive going 2 for 3 with an RBI.

The Jets now take on the Great Falls Chargers Sunday at 1 pm DH.  HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!

2018 Jets heading to college!

Vauxhall, AB – 

The Vauxhall Academy is very proud to announce 9 Jets have committed to college baseball programs on scholarship for the 2018-2019 season.  All 8 players will finish up their spring in Vauxhall and will join their respective college programs in the fall of 2018.  We are very proud of all of these young men and look forward to following their careers.  We look forward to announcing our final commitment soon.

3B – Damiano Palmegiani – Surrey, BC  – has accepted an NCAA Division 1 athletic scholarship to attend California State University Northridge in Northridge, California.  The Matadors play in a very challenging  Big West Conference.  Palmegiani will be joining former Jets Nolan Bumstead, Wesley Moore and Victor Cerny with the Matadors. Tough weekend for the Jets!

 

 

Vauxhall & Okotoks – 

It was a tough weekend for the Jets losing games after the 5th inning against a good Okotoks Dawgs club.

Game 1 saw the Jets fall in 2 extra innings losing 5-2 in the 9th.  Garrett Hawkins was dominate on the mound going 7 innings allowing 5 hits, 2 runs with 6 K’s and 1 BB.  Josh Tardif and Evan O’Toole were both good in relief with Okotoks hitting a 2 out single in the 9th to lead to victory.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Liam Vulcano who was 2 for 4.  Cooper Jones was 2 for 4 with an RBI.  Martin Vincelli – Simard was 1 for 2 and Ty Penner was 2 for 3 with an RBI.

Game 2 saw the score tied at 4 thru 5 innings before Okotoks broke the game open with a huge 6th inning cruising to a 15-5 victory.  Jaden Griffin started on the mound going 5 innings allowing 5 hits, 2 earned runs with 5 K’s and 1 BB.  Chase Florendine, Reece Keller and Jared Arnold finished things off in relief.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Liam Vulcano who was 1 for 3.  Cooper Jones was 2 for 3.  Kaiden Cardoso was 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI.  Ty Penner was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI’s to round out the offense.

Game 3 the Jets traveled to Okotoks with another couple of close games.  The Jets out hit the Dawgs but fell in extra innings 3-2.  Adam Macko started on the mound going 5 innings allowing 5 hits, 2 runs with 5 K’s and 3 BB’s.  Levi Abbott finished things off throwing very well going 2 2/3 innings allowing 1 hit, 1 unearned run with 5 K’s and 2 intentional walks.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Cooper Jones who was 1 for 4.  Damiano Palmegiani was 1 for 4.  Kaiden Cardoso was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s.  Martin Vincelli-Simard was 1 for 3.  Ty Penner was 1 for 3.  John Vulcano was 1 for 3.  Shayne Campbell was 1 for 3 and Owen Harms was 1 for 3 with a double.

Game 4 saw the Jets take a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the 5 inning behind strong pitching performance from Matt Wiggins.  A couple of mistakes found the Jets trailing after 5 and couldn’t mount a comeback.  Matt Wiggins started going 4 2/3 innings allowing 6 hits, 4 unearned runs with 2 K’s and 4 BB’s.  Thomas Little finished things off going 1 1/3 innings allowing 1 hit, 1 run with 1 BB and 1 K.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Ty Penner who was 1 for 3 with a double.  Levi Abbott and John Vulcano both added hits as well.

The Jets now focus their attention to Graduation Weekend with 12 noon DH Saturday vs Badlands Academy and a 1 pm DH Sunday vs Great Falls Chargers.  The Jets are extremely proud of our 10 seniors.  They have represented the Jets with class and dignity on and off the field.  We are excited to follow their next steps in their careers and look forward to adding them to our distinguished alumni list.  Once a Jet…..Always a Jet!!

 

Jets finish off successful Lethbridge with a Championship!

 

 

 

Lethbridge, AB –

Championship Sunday started off with pitchers dominance and ended with an offensive outburst.  The Jets won the semi final over PBA JV by a score of 8-0 advancing to the final winning over Prairie Sticks by a score of 11-9 to claim our 3rd consecutive trophy.

Game 1 saw Adam Macko start on the mound and was dominant going 6 innings allowing 1 hit with 9 K’s and 1 BB.  Josh Tardif finished off the shutout going the final inning with 1 BB.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Liam Vulcano who was 2 for 4 with an RBI.  Ty Penner was 1 for 3.  Kaiden Cardoso was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Levi Abbott was 1 for 2 and Evan O’Toole was 1 for 2 with a 3 run HR.

Game 2 saw Thomas Little start on the mound going 4 innings allowing 3 hits, 2  earned runs with 5 BB’s and 2 K’s.  Matt Wiggins threw 2 innings allowing 2 hits, with 2 runs and 5 K’s.  Jared Arnold threw 1/3 of an inning allowing a 1 hit, 3 runs with 2 BB’s and 1 K.  Reece Keller earned the save going 2/3 of an innings allowing 1 hit.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Liam Vulcano who was 1 for 3 with 4 RBI’s.  Josh Malainey was 2 for 5.  Kaiden Cardoso was 1 for 5 with an RBI.  Levi Abbott was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Cooper Jones was 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI.  Shayne Campbell was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI.  John Vulcano was 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI.  Evan O’Toole was 1 for 4 to round out the offense.

Next action is Saturday May 5th with a DH vs Okotoks at Jets Stadium 12 noon.

Jets get back on track at PBA Tournament!

Lethbridge, AB – 

The Jets got back on track winning by a score of 13-1 over the Saskatoon Giants on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Lethbridge.

Garrett Hawkins was dominate on the mound going 5 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 run with 9 K’s and 0 BB’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Liam Vulcano who was 1 for 3.  Ty Penner was 1 for 2 with an RBI.  Kaiden Cardoso was 1 for 2 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Shayne Campbell was 1 for 3.  Owen Harms was 1 for 1.  Dayton Peters was 1 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  John Vulcano was 2 for 2 with 3 RBI’s.  Evan O’Toole was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI’s and Josh Malainey rounded out the offense going 2 for 3.

The Jets now match up with PBA JV at 9 am at Nolan Yard in the semi final.

The Jets won game 1 – 11-0 over the Saskatoon DBacks and a 8-5 loss to Prairie Sticks on a beautiful Friday afternoon in Lethbridge.

Game 1 saw the Jets score early and often cruising to a 11-0 victory.  Levi Abbott started on the mound going 4 innings allowing 2 hits with 4 K’s.  Reece Keller threw 3 innings allowing 1 BB and 3 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Liam Vulcano who was 2 for 5 with a double.  Cooper Jones was 1 for 3.  Kaiden Cardoso was 1 for 4.  Shayne Campbell was 1 for 4 with a 3 run HR.  Evan O’Toole was 1 for 4 with an RBI.  John Vulcano was 1 for 3 with a triple and 2 RBI’s.

Game 2 the offense was few and far behind and to many walks led to a 8-5 to a good Prairie Sticks team.  Evan O’Toole started on the mound going 3 innings allowing 5 hits, 4 runs with 2 BB’s and 3 K’s.  Chase Florendine went 3 1/3 innings allowing 4 hits, 2 earned runs with 3 BB’s and 3 K’s.  Jared Arnold finished things off going 2/3 of an inning allowing 1 BB and 1 K.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Liam Vulcano who was 1 for 4.  Cooper Jones was 1 for 4 with a triple and an RBI.  Kaiden Cardoso was 1 for 4 with a HR and John Vulcano rounded out the offense going 1 for 3 with 2 RBI’s.

Jets take 2 down in Great Falls!

Great Falls, MT –

It was a warm windy day in Great Falls, Montana certainly keeping the Jets bats hot.  The Jets won both games by scores of 19-5 and 11-1 over Great Falls Chargers and Missoula Mavericks.

Chase Florendine started on the mound going 3 innings allowing 2 hits, 3 runs, 2 earned runs with 3 BB’s and 1 K.  Matt Wiggins finished things off allowing 1 hit, 2 unearned runs with 1 BB and 1 K.  Offensively, the Jets were led by John Vulcano who was 2 for 3 with an RBI.  Cooper Jones was 3 for 4 with a triple and 1 RBI.  Ty Penner was 1 for 3 with 3 RBI’s.  Kaiden Cardoso was 3 for 5 was with a triple and a double with 4 RBI’s.  Shayne Campbell was 2 for 3 with a double and 3 RBI’s.  Owen Harms was 2 for 4 with a triple and an RBI.  Levi Abbott was 3 for 4 with an RBI.  Evan O’Toole was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI’s and Josh Malainey rounded out the offense going 3 for 4 with 2 RBI’s.

Game 2 was close with the Jets leading 2-1 after 4 innings but scored 9 runs in the bottom of the 5th to finish off the game after 5 innings. Adam Macko started on the mound going 3 innings allowing 2 hit, 1 run with 5 BB’s and 3 K’s.  Jared Arnold threw a good inning with 1 K and 1 BB.  Thomas Little finished things off with another good inning allowing 1 BB and 1 K.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Cooper Jones who was 3 for 4 with 2 triples and 3 RBI’s.  Ty Penner was 2 for 3 with an RBI.  Kaiden Cardoso was 2 for 4 with an RBI.  Shayne Campbell was 2 for 4 with a double and and 2 RBI’s.  Josh Malainey was 1 for 3 with an RBI and John Vulcano rounded out the offense going 1 for 2 with an RBI.

Next action for the Jets is next weekend with the PBA Tournament.  Friday 12 noon Spitz Stadium.

Jets come out strong and cruise to a 10-0 victory over Chargers

Great Falls, Montana –

The Jets scored in 4 different innings including 5 runs in the 6th to cruise to a 10-0 victory over the Great Falls Chargers on a beautiful Friday night.  Game time temperature was 20 degrees and sunny.  Garrett Hawkins started on the mound going 4 innings allowing 2 hits with 2 BB’s and 1 K.  Reece Keller went 2 solid innings with 2 K’s.  Josh Tardif finished the shutout off going 1 inning allowing 1 hit with 2 K’s.

Offensively, the offense was spread out.  Liam Vulcano was 1 for 3 with a triple and an RBI.  Cooper Jones was 2 for 2 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Ty Penner was 1 for 2 with an RBI.  Owen Harms was 2 for 4.  Evan O’Toole was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Levi Abbott was 1 for 3 and John Vulcano was 1 for 4 with 2 RBI’s.

Next action for the Jets is Saturday 11 am vs Great Falls and 1:30 pm vs Missoula.  Both game will be played at the White Sox pro stadium Centenne Stadium.

Jets power past Abbotsford Cardinals in semi final!

Kamloops, BC – 

The Vauxhall Jets scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning and another 6 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning to cruise to a 12-4 victory over the Abbotsford Cardinals.  Chase Florendine started on the mound going 3 innings earning the victory allowing 1 hit with 4 runs which were all unearned with 2 BB’s and 3 K’s.  Evan O’Toole finished things off going 2 innings allowing 1 hit.

Offensively, the Jets were led by Liam Vulcano who was 1 for 2.  Cooper Jones was 2 for 3 with with an RBI.  Damiano Palmegiani was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Ty Penner was 1 for 2 with a 3 run HR.  Martin Vincelli-Simard was 1 for 2 with a triple.  Kaiden Cardoso was 1 for 3 with a solo HR.  Owen Harms was 1 for 3.  Shayne Campbell was 1 for 1 with an RBI and Josh Malainey rounded things out going 2 for 3 with an RBI.

The will now face off again the Okotoks Dawgs Academy in the final at 10 am CSG’s field.

Jets take game 3 over the North Shore Twins!

Kamloops, BC – 

The Jets continued their winning ways with a 12-5 victory over the North Shore Twins.  Adam Macko started on the mound and was good going 4 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 BB and 5 K’s.  Reece Keller threw 2/3 of an innings allowing 3 hits, 2 earned runs with 3 BB’s and 1 K.  Matt Wiggins finished things off.

Offensively, the Jets were led by Liam Vulcano who was 1 for 1.  Cooper Jones was outstanding going 3 for 4 with a 2 run HR and a double.  Damiano Palmegiani was 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI.  Ty Penner was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI’s.  Owen Harms was 1 for 3.  Shayne Campbell was 1 for 2 with an RBI.  John Vulcano was 1 for 2 with a triple and an RBI.

The Jets now meet up with the in the semi final at 2 pm vs the winner of the wild card match between Abbotsford and North Shore Twins at 2 pm Norbrock.
