Jets split in Lethbridge!

Lethbridge, AB –

The day didn’t start great but finished decent as the Jets split losing 16-13 in game 1 and won 20-4 in game 2.

Tyler Boudreau started going 2 innings allowing 2 hits, 1 run with 1 BB and 4 Ks.  Shaye McTavish threw 1/3 inning allowing 4 hits 5 earned runs.  Ben Adams threw 1 2/3 innings allowing 2 earned runs.  Mason Nordli threw 2 good innings with 4 K’s.  Justin Adamoski threw 1 1/3 innings allowing 2 hits, 3 earned runs with 2 K’s.  Reece Keller threw 1/3 of an inning allowing 2 runs with 1 K.  Jack Mount finished things off with a K.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Aaron Vulcano who was 2 for 5 with a double and an RBI.  Jackson Clemett was 2 for 6 with 3 RBI’s.  Carlin Dick was 2 for 5 with 2 RBI’s.  Nick Gravel was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and an RBI.  Hunter Porter was 1 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Josh Clark rounded out the offense going 2 for 5 with an RBI.

Game 2 was a much better effort on all sides.  Cole Alguire started on the mound going 2 innings allowing 2 earned runs with 5 K’s.  Levi Abbott threw 2 good innings allowing 1 uneared run with 3 K’s.  Anson McGorman threw 2 innings with 6 K’s.  Hunter Porter finished things off with 1 solid inning with 2 K’s.  Offensively the Jets were led by Kalem Haney who was 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 RBI’s.  Miciahai Furbert was 1 for 1 in his Jets debut.  Carlin Dick was 3 for 4 with 2 triples and 4 RBI’s.  Jackson Clemett was 1 for 4 with a double and RBI.  Nick Gravel was 2 for 5 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Aaron Vulcano was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Hunter Porter was 3 for 5 with a double.  Logan Domanski was 1 for 5 with an RBI.  Shaye McTavish was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s and Mason Nordli rounded out the offense going 2 for 6 with a triple and 2 RBI’s.

 

Jets hold on for a victory on a cool windy day in Lethbridge!

The Jets held on for a 6-5 victory over the PBA JV despite giving up 3 unearned runs late in the game.

Jack Mount started on the mound going 2 innings allowing 3 hits, 2 runs with 5 K’s.  Maddux Mateychuk threw 2 innings allowing 1 hit with 3 K’s.  Reece Keller threw 2 innings allowing 0 hits with 3 K’s.  Justin Adamoski allowing 1 hit and 3 unearned runs with 2 K’s.  Levi Abbott threw the final inning earning the save with 1 K.

Offensively, the Jets were led by Carlin Dick who was 1 for 4 with an RBI.  Max Grant was 3 for 4.  Jackson Clemett was 1 for 4 with a double.  Aaron Vulcano was 1 for 4.  Josh Clark was 1 for 4 with an RBI.  Shaye McTavish was 1 for 3 and Nick Backstrom had an outstanding day going 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, triple and 3 RBI’s.

Next action is Friday with an 11 am DH vs PBA in Lethbridge.

14th Annual Awards & Scholarship Dinner!

Vauxhall, AB –

First of all thank you to everyone who traveled in the extremely cold weather to attend the 14th Annual Awards night.   Also a special thank you to all the sponsors and donors for leading the way with first class auction items.

Shaun Haney led the evening as our MC and did an excellent job. His Q & A was very professional and made the event very memorable for our featured speaker.  Former Toronto Blue Jays great and 16 year MLB veteran Rance Mulliniks did a tremendous job speaking telling stories and giving insight into past Blue Jays seasons/players and told several great stories about his 16 year MLB career. Several Awards and Scholarships were handed out highlighted by the Reno Lizzi Scholarships presented by Barbara & Yukio Kitagawa.

Solid opening day to begin 2020!

Lethbridge, AB –

It was a beautiful sunny February afternoon in Southern Alberta with the Jets taking on the PBA JV at Nolan Yard.  The Jets were dominate on the mount for the entire day with 1 tough inning to finish up game 2.  Game 1 Jets 12 PBA JV 0.  Game 2 Jets 4 PBA JV 5.

14th Annual Awards & Scholarship Dinner with Wall of Excellence Inductees!

Vauxhall, AB –

The VAB is excited for the 14th annual Awards/Scholarship Fundraising Banquet February 29th, 2020 at the Vauxhall Community Hall (5 pm cocktails and 5:45 pm program begins).  We are very excited to announce former Toronto Blue Jay & 16 year MLB veteran – Rance Mulliniks as our featured speaker. Mulliniks spent 16 seasons with the California Angles, Kansas City Royals and the Toronto Blue Jays.

The evening will once again be highlighted by the Reno Lizzi Scholarships as well as several other Awards and Scholarship presentations. A silent auction, live auction and raffles will be going on throughout the evening

We are also very excited to welcome the 7th & 8th inductees to our Wall of Excellence.

David Reiniger was the 1st player to commit to become a Jet and the 1st to receive a scholarship to the US attending Alabama Huntsville.  David has his masters in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Alabama and has worked with Boeing & NASA on rocket design and currently with Blue Origin as their Propulsion Module Director with the goal to send humans to space in 2020.

Josh Burgmann is a 3 year Jet who graduated in 2016 after spending 2 years with Team Canada and was drafted out of high school by the Cardinals.  Josh elected to attend the University of Washington and helped pitch the Huskies to the 2018 College World Series.  In 2019, Josh became the highest drafted Jet in history after being selected in the 5th round by the Chicago Cubs.  Josh currently is training in Vauxhall getting ready for spring training.

4 Jets early commit to top college programs!

Vauxhall, AB – 

The Vauxhall Academy is very proud to announce 4 Jets have committed to college baseball programs on scholarship for the 2020-2021 season.  All 4 players will finish up their spring in Vauxhall and will join their respective college programs in the fall of 2020.  We are very proud of ll of these young men and look forward to following their careers.  Stay tuned for additional Jets signing over the winter months.

LHP – Ben Adams – Ottawa, ON – has accepted an NCAA Division 1 St. John’s Red Storm in Queens, New York.  The Red Storm play in the very competitive Big East Conference and have been a national powerhouse over the last couple of the years. It turned out to be a decent fall afternoon in Lethbridge with the Jets taking on PBA.  Game 1 saw the Jets come out on top by a score of 7-5.  Maddux Mateychuk started on the mound going 2 IP allowing 1 hit with 3 runs, 4 BB’s and 2 K’s.  Levi Abbott threw 2 IP allowing 2 hits, 1 run with 2 BB and 6 K’s.  Shaye McTavish threw 2 good innings allowing 0 hits, 0 runs with 1 K.  Ben Adams finished things off earning the win going 3 IP allowing 1 hit, 1 run with 1 BB and 4 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Aaron Vulcano who was 3 for 5 with a double and 4 RBI’s.  Logan Domanski was 1 for 5.  Max Grant was 1 for 5 with an RBI.  Carlin Dick was 1 for 4 with a double.  Nick Gravel was 1 for 2.  Jackson Clemett was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Kalem Haney rounded out the offense going 1 for 4 & Nick Backstrom was 1 for 3.

Game 2 saw the Jets give up a late lead losing 8-7 in a walk off.  Justin Adamoski threw 2 IP allowing 2 hits, 2 runs with 0 BB’s and 2 K’s.  Reece Keller threw 2 IP allowing 2 hits, 3 runs with 3 BB’s and 5 K’s.  Nick Backstrom threw 1 1/3 IP allowing 1 hit with 1 BB and 2 K’s.  Cole Alguire finished things allowing a couple of hits with 1 BB and 2 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Aaron Vulcano who was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Logan Domanski was 1 for 4 with a double.  Ty Wevers was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI.  Nick Gravel rounded out the offense going 3 for 3 with 3 RBI’s.  Josh Clark was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Hunter Porter was 1 for 2 to round out the offense.

Jets take a couple of Jr. Dino’s in Calgary!

 

Calgary, AB – 

It turned out to be a decent day in Calgary as the Jets travelled to take on the Jr. Dino’s in 2 – 9 inning ball games.  Game 1 had the Jets come out on top 9-2 in which Levi Abbott started on the mound going 2 IP allowing 2 hits, 1 earned run with 4 K’s.  Maddux Mateychuk threw 2 good innings with 3 K’s.  Shaye McTavish threw 1 clean inning.  Jack Mount threw 2 IP with 1 BB and 3 K’s.  Ben Adams finished things off and was dominate going 2 IP with 5 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Nick Gravel who was 2 for 5.  Max Grant was 1 for 4 with an RBI.  Ty Wevers was 1 for 2.  Carlin Dick was 1 for 5 with 2 RBI’s.  Jackson Clemett was 2 for 4 with a triple and 2 RBI’s.  Aaron Vulcano was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s.  Hunter Porter was 1 for 4.  Mason Nordli was 1 for 4 with an RBI to round out the offense.

Justin Adamoski finished things off throwing very well going 2 IP with 4 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Logan Domanski who was 2 for 4 with a triple and 2 RBI’s.  Carlin Dick was 1 for 5 with a triple and 2 RBI’s.  Ty Wevers was 1 for 4 with a double.  Max Grant was 2 for 3 with a triple and 3 RBI’s .  Jackson Clemett was 1 for 5.  Nick Gravel was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI.  Josh Clark rounded out the offense going 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s.

The Jets will now take on PBA Varsity, College of Southern Idaho (2018 JUCO World Series team) and PBA JV next weekend in Lethbridge to round out the offense.

Jets come out on top in Lethbridge!

Tyler Boudreau started on the mound going 3 IP allowing 1 hit, 1 run with 2 BB’s and 6 K’s.  Reece Keller threw 3 IP allowing 0 hits, 0 runs with 1 BB and 2 K’s.  Justin Adamoski finished things off going 3 IP allowing 3 hits, 3 runs with 1 BB and 4 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by a bit day from Max Grant who was 5/5.  Logan Domanski was 2 for 4 with an RBI.  Ty Wevers was 1 for 4.  Carlin Dick was 2 for 3 with a double and 3 RBI’s.  Nick Gravel had a big day  going 2 for 4 with a triple/double and 4 RBI’s and Mason Nordli rounded out the offense going 1 for 5.

Jets are hoping to play tomorrow at 1 pm vs PBA in Lethbridge.  Weather permitting.
