Jets alumni – Jeremie Fagnan – named 2013 ABCA/Rawlings NJCAA National Player of the Year!!

IMG_1929[1]

Vauxhall, AB –

The Vauxhall Academy has had many accomplishments over the years due to the hard work and dedication of our student-athletes either in a Jets uniform or as an alumni.  Today Jets alumni Jeremie Fagnan (Calgary, AB – class of 2010) set a new standard with Jets accomplishments.  Fagnan was named 2013 ABCA/Rawlings NJCAA National Player of the Year.

Jeremie led the Midland Chaparrals to the Region 5 championship and their first appearance in the NJCAA DI Baseball World Series.  The Western Junior College Athletic Conference MVP batted for a .419 average in 2013, ranking fourth in the country with 77 RBIs. Compiling a .665 slugging percentage, Fagnan hit six home runs, 21 doubles and ranked sixth in DI with 11 triples. Fagnan also excelled on the base paths, stealing 34 bases and ranking second in DI with 89 runs scored.

At the NJCAA DI Baseball World Series in Grand Junction, Colo., Fagnan carried the Chaparrals offense. Going 6-for-12 at the plate, Fagnan hit two doubles and drove home six RBIs. Before Midland was eliminated in the 10th inning of their third game by Palm Beach State (Fla.), Fagnan forced extra-innings with a 2-RBI double in the bottom of the ninth.

Jeremie is the only Midland baseball player to earn first team All-America honors. With the highest batting average in the Southwest District, Fagnan earned a 2013 Rawlings NJCAA Big Stick Award for his efforts.

Jeremie has accepted an NCAA Division 1 scholarship to National Powerhouse TCU Horned Frogs in Forth Worth, Texas.  For more details on http://gofrogs.cstv.com/sports/m-basebl/tcu-m-basebl-body.html

Jeremie dedicated his season to his father, Guy, who passed away in the fall after a long battle with cancer.  Guy and his wife Yvonne have been great supporters of the Jets and we are thankful that Guy was able to enjoy Jeremie’s time in Vauxhall.

Congrats Jeremie from the entire Jets organization.  Once a Jet….Always a Jet.
