Jets split on a very cold fall day!

Vauxhall, AB –

The Jets split with St. Fx winning game 1 by a score of 14-1 and lost game 2 by a score of 6-4.  Justin Davies got the start in game 1 going 5 1/3 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 BB, 1 run with 13 K’s.  Victor Caruso threw 1 2/3 innings with 4 K’s, 1 BB and 1 hit.  Brendan Hendriks threw the final 2 innings allowing 0 hits, 0 runs, with 4 BB’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Greg Adams who was 2 for 3 with a double, RBI, 4 runs scored and 3 BB’s.  Ben Douglas was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles, 2 RBI’s, and 2 runs scored.  Matt Clark was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s and 3 runs scored.  Ben Dartnell was 2 for 2 with a double, triple and 4 RBI’s. 

Game 2 saw Taylor Simmonds start on the mound going 4 innings, allowing 4 runs (3 earned runs), 4 hits, 2 BB’s and 5 K’s.  Derek Grubel threw the next 2 innings allowing 1 unearned run, 2 hits, 1 BB and 2 K’s.  Paul Schaak threw the next 2 innings allowing 1 hit, 4 K’s and 0 runs.  Ben Douglas threw the final inning allowing 1 run.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Kym Barthel who was 2 for 4 with a double, run scored and RBI.  Ben Douglas was 1 for 3 with a run scored.  Brody McDonald was 1 for 1 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Levi Westerlund was 1 for 4. 

The split pushes the Jets record to 12 wins and 5 losses.  Next action is Wednesday vs PBA at 4 pm at Lloyd Nolan Yard.
