Jets open the tournament with a convincing 13-3 victory!

 Vauxhall, AB –

The Vauxhall Academy of Baseball opened up the 4th Annual Haven Agencies Invitational Tournament with a 13-3 victory over the Lethbridge Elks.  Paul Schaak started on the mound going 5 innings allowing 6 hits, 3 runs, 3 BB’s and 8 K’s for the victory.  Chad Hodges threw a good inning of relief allowing 1 K and 1 BB. 

Offensively, the Jets were led by a big day from Brendan Hendriks who was 3 for 3 with 2 – 2 run HR’s and a single with 4 RBI’s, 4 runs scored and a stolen base.  Ben Douglas was 2 for 3 iwht a double, 2 RBI’s and 2 runs scored. Kym Barthel was 1 for 4 with an RBI and run scored.  Luke Barry was 1 for 4 with a double and run scored.  Shane Zimmer was 2 for 4 with a HR, 2 RBI’s and 2 runs scored.  Matt Clark was 1 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Marc St. Jean rounded out the offense with a single, RBI and run scored. 

The win pushes the Jets overall record to 25-7 and 1-0 in the tournament.  Next action is Friday night at 7 pm vs Calgary Cubs.
