Steven Inch signs with the Phillies!

Vauxhall, AB –

The Vauxhall Academy of Baseball is proud to announce that 2009 graduate Steven Inch has signed a professional baseball contract with the Phillies.  Inch was drafted in the 6th round of the 2009 1st year player draft.  Steven also played for the Canadian National Junior Team in 2009 which allowed him to travel to Orlando, Florida – Dominican Replubic, North Carolina, and Cuba.  Inch received a signing bonus, money towards post secondary education and incentive clause.  Steven had this to say from Philadelphia about the signing:

“It’s incredibly exciting to have the opportunity to play for the first class 2008 World Series champions.  It was a very difficult decision to remove myself from the University of Kentucky team which has a very strong program but when it came down to it, the chance to play for the Phillies was too tempting.  It’s a childhood dream and a once in a life time experience.  I hope that I can continue to grow the way Vauxhall has taught me to.  This opportunity would not have not have been possible without Vauxhall Baseball Academy.  They teach you to rebound from failure and build off success.  As the coaches always say, they will give us the vehicle to be successful and it is up to us as players to drive it – in my case case it has been easy to take the wheel!!”

The entire program is very proud of Steven and are extremely excited to follow his progress and development as a young man through the Philies system.

After Steven’s physical in Philly he will report to the GCL in Floria and will attend the University of Alberta in the fall awaiting spring training in the early spring of 2010.
