Mental Performance Consultant, M.A., CSPA – Professional Member
Joshua has been working with athletes since completing an undergrad at the University of Lethbridge. During that time, he was a member of the Emotion and Performance Lab and examined stress and coping in athletes transitioning into a high school sport academy. While completing a Masters in Counselling Psychology, Joshua continued to work with athletes as the Program Facilitator/Mental Performance Consultant for the Alberta Sport Development Centre SW. Eventually, Joshua was promoted to the Centre Coordinator role, overseeing centre operations while continuing to deliver Mental Performance Consulting services to athletes involved with the ASDC SW.
Aside from his work with the Alberta Sport Development Centre SW, Joshua provides private consulting services to athletes and a variety of organizations. Examples include the Vauxhall Academy of Baseball, Team Alberta – Canada Winter Games, Hockey Canada, and Hockey Alberta.
Joshua enjoys working with athletes and coaches in helping them develop perspective and mental skills that improve performance, enjoyment of sport, and life skills.
He is a Professional Member of the Canadian Sport Psychology Association and was awarded the 2017 Canadian Sport Psychology Association Young Professional of the Year.
An interesting fact, is that Joshua was recruited down to Vauxhall from Smoky Lake, AB in 2006/2007 to attend the inaugural year of the Vauxhall Academy of Baseball and greatly appreciates the experience and memories he has being a part of that first year.
