Thomas Little drafted in the 33rd round by the Philadelphia Phillies!

Vauxhall Academy Jets standout – LHP Thomas Little (Lethbridge, AB) was drafted in the 33rd round, 990th overall by the Philadelphia Phillies.  Thomas is a 2 year standout for the Jets.  Little has signed a Letter of Intent to NJCAA Division 2 National Champs Oklahoma Enid Jets.  Congrats Thomas!!

Vauxhall Academy Jets standout – LHP Adam Macko (Stony Plain, AB) was drafted in the 7th round, 216th overall by the Seattle Mariners.  Adam is a 3 year standout for the Jets also participating in the 2019 P15 New Balance International Series for the World Team as well as the Area Code Games.  Macko signed a Letter of Intent to Purdue University.  Congrats Adam!!

Jets alumni (2014/2016) Josh Burgmann was drafted in the 2019 MLB 1st year player draft out of the University of Washington Huskies. Former Jet RHP Josh Burgmann (Namaimo, BC) was drafted in the 5th round, 162nd overall by the Chicago Cubs.  Josh was a standout for the Jets for 3 years and has had a very successful career at the University of Washington Huskies.  Congrats Josh!!

Jets continue winning ways!

Vauxhall, AB – 

The rain certainly put a wrench into the scheduling at the 13th Annual Haven Tournament.  With all the rain and costs Great Falls and Calgary decided to drop out.

The Jets ended up playing the Medicine Hat Monarchs today winning by a score of 12-1.  Adam Macko was dominate on the mound going 4 IP allowing 2 hits with 10 K’s and 0 BB’s.  Maddux Mateychuk threw 1 inning of relief and Justin Adamoski was dominate in relief striking out 3 hitters.

Offensively, the Jets were led by Logan Domanski who was 1 for 4 with an RBI.  Max Grant was 1 for 3 with a 2 run HR.  Shayne Campbell was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Carlin Dick was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  John Vulcano was 2 for 4 with a double.  Jackson Clemett was 2 for 2 with a double.  Josh Malainey was 1 for 1 with an RBI and Logan Grant was 1 for 2 with a double and 3 RBI’s.

Tomorrow will finish off the tournament with the Jets taking on Lethbridge at 10:30 am.  Lethbridge vs Medicine Hat at 1 pm and Jets vs Medicine Hat at 3:30 pm.

Jets take 2 from Great Falls on a beautiful graduation Saturday!

We couldn’t ask for a better day for baseball in Vauxhall.  22 degrees, sunny with no wind (yes no wind at all).  The Jets won both games vs the Great Falls Chargers by scores of 10-4 and 11-2.

Game 1 saw Adam Macko start on the mound going 4 IP allowing 1 hit, 1 earned run with 1 BB and 10 K’s.  Maddux Mateychuk threw 1 1/3 IP with 2 runs, 4 BB’s and 1 K.  Tyler Boudreau finished things off throwing very well going 1 2/3 IP allowing 0 hits, 0 runs with 0 BB’s and 4 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Josh Malainey who was 1 for 3.  Dayton Peters was 1 for 3 with a 2 run HR and 3 RBI’s.  Max Grant was 1 for 2 with a solo HR.  Shayne Campbell was 1 for 1 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  John Vulcano was 1 for 3. Carlin Dick was 1 for 2.  Logan Domanski rounded out the offense going 1 for 4.

Game 2 saw Matt Wiggins start on the mound going 3 IP allowing 4 hits, 2 runs, 3 BB’s with 5 K’s.  Evan O’Toole threw 3 IP allowing 0 hits, 0 runs with 2 BB’s and 5 K’s.  John Vulcano finished things off going 1 IP with 2 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Josh Malainey who was 1 for 2 with a double.  Max Grant was 3 for 3 with a HR and 3 RBI’s.  Shayne Campbell was 1 for 2 with a grand slam.  Logan Domanski was 2 for 2 with an RBI.  Jackson Clemett was 1 for 3 with a 2 run HR.  Logan Grant was 1 for 3 with a double and Nick Gravel was 1 for 3 with a solo HR.

The Jets will now face Badlands Academy at Jets Stadium on Mothers Day Sunday 12 noon DH.

Jets get off to a good start at PBA Tournament!

 

Lethbridge, AB –

The Jets started the PBA JV Tournament off on a good note winning 2 games on a beautiful sunny afternoon in Lethbridge.

Game 1 saw the Jets win by a score of 3-1 over PBA JV despite out hitting them 7-2.  Matt Wiggins started on the mound earning the victory going 5 innings allowing 2 hits, 1 uneared run with 1 BB and 5 K’s.  Evan O’Toole earned the save going 2 innings allowing 0 hits, 0 runs, 0 BB’s with 4 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by John Vulcano who was 1 for 3.  Logan Domanski was 2 for 3.  Shayne Campbell was 1 for 2.  Jackson Clemett was 2 for 3 with an RBI.  Carlin Dick rounded out the offense going 1 for 3 to round out the offense.

Game 2 saw the Jets win by a score of 10-1 over the Calgary Jr. Dino’s.  Justin Adamoski earned the victory going 3 innings allowing 4 hits, 1 run with 0 BB’s and 5 K’s.  Tyler Boudreau threw the final 4 innings to earn the save allowing 2 hits with 0 BB’s and 6 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by John Vulcano who was 2 for 3.  Logan Domanski was 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI.  Max Grant was 1 for 4.  Dayton Peters was 3 for 2 with a triple and 3 RBI’s.  Evan O’Toole was 1 for 3 with a doubled and RBI.  Nick Gravel was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Ty Wevers was 1 for 4.  Logan Grant was 2 for 4 with a double.

The Jets play Parkland tomorrow at 1 pm at Lloyd Nolan Yard.

Jets win the Bishop Gorman Desert Classic for 1st time in history!

Las Vegas, NV – 

What a day of baseball on so many fronts.  The Jets opened the day as the #2 seed in the Desert Classic behind only Bishop Gorman HS.  The semi final match up was against a very good Liberty, NV team facing their ace.

Jets come out on top by a score of 2-0.  Thomas Little started on the mound and was absolutely dominant going 6 innings allowing his first hit in the 6th with 2 BB’s and 6 K’s.  Maddux Mateychuk earned the save allowing a walk and stranding runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the 7th.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Logan Grant was 2 for 3 with an RBI.  John Vulcano was 1 for 4.  Shayne Campbell was 1 for 3.  Dayton Peters was 1 for 2 with an RBI.  Josh Malainey was 1 for 2.  Evan O’Toole was 1 for 2 with a triple and Logan Domanski was for 1 for 3.

The victory pushed the Jets against Ventura, CA after they beat Bishop Gorman 5-1.  Tyler Boudreau started on the mound going 2 innings allowing 2 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned run with 1 BB.  Evan O’Toole earned the win going 4 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 run, 0 earned runs with 3 BB’s and 5 K’s. Chase Florendine earned the save going 1 inning with 1 K.  Offensively, the Jets were led by John Vulcano was 2 for 3.  Max Grant was 2 for 3 with a double.  Dayton Peters was 2 for 3 with a triple and 3 RBI’s.  Ty Wevers rounded out the offense going 1 for 3.

The Championship is the 1st time the Jets history (13 years) winning the Desert Classic.

Next up is the Best of the West Tournament in Kamloops, BC.
