5 Jets commit to US schools!

Vauxhall, AB – 

The Vauxhall Academy is very proud to announce 5 Jets have committed to college baseball programs on scholarship for the 2019-2020 season.  All 5 players will finish up their spring in Vauxhall and will join their respective college programs in the fall of 2019.  We are very proud of all of these young men and look forward to following their careers.  Stay tuned for additional Jets signing over the winter months.

RHP – Chase Florendine – Lethbridge, AB  – has accepted an NCAA Division 1 athletic scholarship to attend California State University Northridge in Northridge, CA.  The Matadors play in a very challenging  Big West Conference.  Floredine will be joining former Jets Damiano Palmegiani, Wesley Moore and Victor Cerny with the Matadors. OF/RHP – Evan O’Toole – Bridgewater, NS  – has accepted an NJCAA  athletic scholarship to attend Iowa Western College in Council Bluffs, Iowa.  The Reivers play in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.  The Reivers finished in 6th place in the 2018 NJCAA World Series. LHP – Thomas Little – Lethbridge, AB  – has accepted an NJCAA  athletic scholarship to attend Northern Oklahoma Enid College in Enid, Oklahoma .  The Jets play in the NJCAA Region 2.  The Jets finished in 3rd place in the 2018 NJCAA Division 2 World Series. Jets win and tie on a beautiful fall afternoon in Vauxhall!

The fall has certainly had its challenges with weather but finally a nice sunny Sunday afternoon allowed for the Jets to take on the University of Calgary Dino’s in Vauxhall.

Game 1 saw the Jets come out on top by a score of 14-6.  Chase Florendine threw 1 inning allowing 1 hit, 2 unearned runs with 4 K’s and 2 BB’s.  Thomas Little earned the victory in relief going 3 innings allowing 2 hits, 2 unearned runs with 2 BB’s and 2 K’s.  Justin Adamoski threw 2 innings with 2 K’s.  Maddux Mateychuk threw 1 2/3 innings allowing 2 hits 2 runs, 1 earned run with 1 BB.  Matt Wiggins finished things off going 1 1/3 innings allowing 1 hit with 3 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by a huge day from Carlin Dick who was 5 for 5 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI’s.  Dayton Peters was 2 for 3 including a 2 run blast to dead center.  Josh Malainey was 1 for 5 with an RBI.  John Vulcano was 2 for 5 with an RBI.  Max Grant was 1 for 4.  Evan O’Toole was 1 for 3.  Shayne Campbell was 1 for 5 with a double and 2 RBI’s and Logan Domanski rounded out the offense going 1 for 3 with an RBI.

Game 2 saw the Jets and Dino’s finish in a 4-4 tie.  Adam Macko started on the mound going 2 innings with 2 K’s and 1 BB.  Reece Keller threw 2 innings allowing 6 hits, 2 runs with 4 K’s and 2 BB’s.  Ben Adams went 2 innings allowing 3 hits with 2 K’s.  Evan O’Toole threw 1 inning with 1 K.  Levi Abbott threw the final 2 innings allowing 1 hit, 1 run with 1 K and 1 BB.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Shayne Campbell who was 1 for 1.  Max Grant was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Dayton Peters was 1 for 3.  Carlin Dick continued with his big day going 1 for 2 with a double and 2 RBI’s and Nick Gravel rounded out the offense going 1 for 2.

The Jets will now take some time to get some quality practices in and hold the 13th Annual 100 inning Marathon Game Thursday at Jets Stadium

Jets come out on top against Badlands!

The Jets came out on top of both games of the DH by scores of 8-7 and 7-4 on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

Game 1 saw Levi Abbott get the start on the mound going 2 innings allowing 4 hits, 2 earned runs with 1 BB and 1 K.  Justin Adamoski threw 2 solid innings allowing 1 hit with 4 K’s.  Maddux Mateychuk threw 1 inning allowing 1 hit, 2 runs with 4 K’s.  Reece Keller threw 2 1/3 innings allowing 2 hits, 2 unearned runs with 5 K’s.  Matt Wiggins got the win in relief going 1 2/3 innings with 3 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Josh Malainey who was 1 for 2 with an RBI.  Johnny Vulcano was 3 for 4 with a double, triple and 2 RBI’s.  Shayne Campbell was 1 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Max Grant was 1 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Dayton Peter was 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI.  Carlin Dick was 1 for 4, Jackson Clemett was 1 for 4 and Logan Domanski was 1 for 4 to round out the offense.

The Jets came out and played good overall baseball on a cool but sunny Sunday afternoon in Lethbridge.  Game 1 saw the Jets come out on top by a score of 8-3.

Ben Adams started on the mound going 3 1/3 innings allowing 1 hit, 3 BB’s with 2 K’s to earn the victory.  Maddux Mateychuk threw 1 2/3 solid innings allowing 1 run with 2 BB’s.  Chase Florendine finished things off going 2 innings allowing 3 hits with 0 earned runs and 1 K.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Josh Malainey who was 2 for 4.  Max Grant was 2 for 3 with an RBI.  Evan O’Toole was 2 for 4 with an RBI.  Carlin Dick was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Shayne Campbell was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Jackson Clemett was 1 for 2 with an RBI.  Ty Wevers was 2 for 3 with an RBI.  Logan Domanski was 1 for 3 with an RBI and Nick Gravel was 1 for 3 to round out a solid offensive game.

Game 2 saw the Jets get walked off on in the bottom of the 9th with a ball lost in the sun in an otherwise good overall baseball game.

Thomas Little started on the mound going 3 2/3 good innings allowing 2 hits, 2 runs with 6 K’s.  Justin Adamoski threw 3 solid innings allowing 1 hit with 2 BB’s and 4 K’s.  Nick Gravel allowed a couple of runs in relief before Carlin Dick finished things off going 2 innings allowing 1 hit, 1 run with 2 BB’s and 1 K to finish off the pitching.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Josh Malainey was 1 for 4.  Johnny Vulcano was 1 for 4.  Max Grant was 1 for 4.  Evan O’Toole was 2 for 4.  Ty Wevers 1 for 2.  Nick Gravel rounded out the offense going 1 for 2.

Next action for the Jets is in Edmonton vs the Prospect Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

 

Jets lose in Lethbridge vs PBA on a brisk September day!

Lethbridge, AB – 

The Jets found themselves fall behind early trailing 8-0 after the 2nd inning and eventually falling 10-2 on a very cool Saturday afternoon.

Levi Abbott started on the mound going 1 1/3 innings allowing 7 hits, 7 earned runs with 3 BB’s.  Tyler Boudreau threw 2 2/3 solid innings allowing 2 hits with 2 K’s.  Reece Keller threw 2 innings allowing 1 earned run with 2 BB’s.  Johnny Vulcano finished things off going 2 innings with 1 BB and 2 K’s.

Offensively, the Jets were led by Johnny Vulcano who was 1 for 3 with an RBI.   Evan O’Toole was 1 for 4 with an RBI.  Max Grant hit the ball hard going 2 for 4 with a double.  Logan Grant was 1 for 2 and Logan Domanski was 1 for 3 to round out the offense.

The Jets will travel to Lethbridge to take on the PBA again Sunday at 12 noon for a DH.

Jets split with PBA again to finish 2-2 on the weekend!

You couldn’t ask for better weather for a September fall double header in Lethbridge.

Game 1 saw the Jets lose by a score of 3-2 and won game 2 by a score of 6-4.

Game 1 saw Carlin Dick start on the mound going 3 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 run with 1 BB and 3 K’s.  Maddox Mateychuk threw 2 innings allowing 0 hit, 1 run with 3 BB’s and 2 K’s.  Justin Adamoski finished things off going 1 inning allowing 2 hits, 1 unearned run with 1 K. Offensively, the Jets were led by Josh Malainey who was 2 for 3.  Max Grant was 1 for 2 with a double and an RBI.  Dayton Peters rounded out the offense going 1 for 2.

Game 2 saw the Jets win by a score of 6-4.  Reece Keller started on the mound and earned the victory going 4 innings allowing 1 hit with 5 K’s and 0 BB’s.  Tyler Boudreaux threw 2 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 earned run with 2 BB’s and 1 K.  Matt Wiggins earned the save throwing 1 inning with 1 K.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Josh Malainey who was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI.  Max Grant was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Evan O’Toole was 2 for 3 with an RBI.  Nick Gravel was 1 for 3.  Ty Wevers was 2 for 2 with a double and an RBI.  Logan Grant was 2 for 3 and Logan Domanski was 1 for 3 to round out the offence.

Next up for the Jets is 16 players are heading to the T12 and 3 players to the Alberta top 40.  Exciting times for the Jets.

The Jets split on a beautiful day at Nolan Yard in Lethbridge.  The VAB lost game 1 by a score of 12 – 7 and won game 2 13-4.

Game 1 saw Evan O’Toole start on the mound going 2 innings allowing 4 hits, 3 runs with 1 K.  Thomas Little threw 1 inning allowing 2 hits, 1 earned run with 2 BB’s and 1 K.  Chase Florendine threw 2 innings allowing 3 hits with 2 BB’s and 1 K.  Nick Gravel threw the final inning allowing 1 hit, 1 run with 2 K’s.  Offensively, the Jets were led Josh Malainey was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles.  John Vulcano was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI’s.  Carlin Dick was 1 for 4 with an RBI.  Max Grant was 1 for 2.  Ben Adams was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Logan Domanski was 2 for 3 to round out the offense.

Jets lose a tight one vs PBA to open 2018 fall!

The Jets opened the fall season with the Annual Spirit week game vs PBA.  VES, VJHS, VHS students attended the game part of Spirit week.  Final score PBA 8 Jets 7.

Chase Florendine started going 1 innings allowing 2 hits, 1 run with 3 K’s.  Levi Abbott threw 1 inning with 2 K’s.  Reece Keller went 1 inning allowing 1 hit with 1 K.  Maddux Mateychuk threw 1/3 of an inning.  Ben Adams threw 1 2/3 innings allowing 1 hit with 1 BB and 3 K’s.  Tyler Boudreau threw 1 clean inning.  Justin Adamoski threw 1 inning allowing 1 hit with 1 earned run.  Carlin Dick finished things off going 1 inning allowing 1 hit.

Offensively, the Jets were led by John Vulcano who was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI’s.  Carlin Dick was 1 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Evan O’Toole was 2 for 5 with an RBI.  Nick Gravel rounded out the offense going 1 for 2.

Bulls finish 2018 with victory over Bulls in TCMM game!

Lethbridge, AB – 

It is the 7th Annual TCMM game in Lethbridge at Spitz Stadium vs Lethbridge Bulls.  The game is about more than baseball but rather remembering Tanner Craswell and Mitch McLean who tragically lost their lives 7 years ago.

The Jets opened up the scoring and staying on the winning side throughout the ball game with the final score Jets 4 Bulls 2.

Jaden Griffen started on the mound going 2 innings allowing 1 hit with 2 K’s.  Matt Wiggins threw 1 inning allowing 1 hit, 1 unearned run with 1 K.  Garrett Hawkins threw 2 innings allowing 3 K’s and 2 BB’s.  Thomas Little threw 1 inning with 3 BB’s.  Jared Arnold threw 1 clean inning.  Josh Tardif threw 1 inning with 2 K’s and 1 BB.  Evan O’Toole finished things off going 1 inning allowing 2 hits with 1 unearned run and 1 K.

Offensively, the Jets were led by Liam Vulcano who was 2 for 4 with an RBI.  Ty Penner was 1 for 4.  Damiano Palmegiani was 1 for 4.  Cooper Jones was 1 for 3 with a double.  Martin Vincelli-Simard rounded out the offense going 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI.

The Jets finish 2018 with a 28-10 record and 3 tournament victories.  We look forward to following the progress and careers of our graduating student-athletes.  Once a Jet….Always a Jet!

Jets finish off Missoula Memorial Tournament in dramatic fashion!

 

 

Missoula, MT – 

It was a special Championship Sunday in Missoula.  A match up with the Helena Senators with the winner advancing to the finals vs Bozeman. The game was 1-0 entering the 5th inning when the Jets exploded for 10 runs finishing the game off.  Levi Abbott started on the mound going 5 innings (48 pitches/38 strikes) allowing 0 hit, 0 run, 0 BB’s, 0 errors with 8 K’s.  PERFECT GAME!  This the first Jets perfect game in 12 years.  A tremendous feat by Levi, catcher Shayne Campbell and the entire defense.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Owen Harms who was 3 for 3 with a triple and an RBI.  Ty Penner was 2 for 3 with a double and 3 RBI’s.  Shayne Campbell was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  John Vulcano was 2 for 4 with an RBI.  Cooper Jones was 1 for 3 with an RBI and Evan O’Toole was 2 for 4 to round out a very balanced offense.

Entering the finals vs Bozeman Bucks the Jets ran out Adam Macko who went 6 very good innings allowing 2 hits with 6 K’s and 2 BB’s.  Josh Tardif finished things off going 1 inning allowing 1 hit with 1 BB and 1 K.  Offensively, the attack was well spread out again with Liam Vulcano going 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Ty Penner was 1 for 4.  Kaiden Cardoso was 2 for 4.  Shayne Campbell was 1 for 2 with an RBI.  John Vulcano was 2 for 2 with an RBI.  Cooper Jones rounded out the offense going 1 for 2 with a double and an RBI.

The Championship was the 1st for the Jets at the Missoula Memorial Day Tournament in 3 attempts.

Our attention now turns to a special game with the Annual TCMM game vs the Bulls Wednesday at 7 pm Spitz Stadium.
