Bulls finish 2018 with victory over Bulls in TCMM game!

Lethbridge, AB – 

It is the 7th Annual TCMM game in Lethbridge at Spitz Stadium vs Lethbridge Bulls.  The game is about more than baseball but rather remembering Tanner Craswell and Mitch McLean who tragically lost their lives 7 years ago.

The Jets opened up the scoring and staying on the winning side throughout the ball game with the final score Jets 4 Bulls 2.

Jaden Griffen started on the mound going 2 innings allowing 1 hit with 2 K’s.  Matt Wiggins threw 1 inning allowing 1 hit, 1 unearned run with 1 K.  Garrett Hawkins threw 2 innings allowing 3 K’s and 2 BB’s.  Thomas Little threw 1 inning with 3 BB’s.  Jared Arnold threw 1 clean inning.  Josh Tardif threw 1 inning with 2 K’s and 1 BB.  Evan O’Toole finished things off going 1 inning allowing 2 hits with 1 unearned run and 1 K.

Offensively, the Jets were led by Liam Vulcano who was 2 for 4 with an RBI.  Ty Penner was 1 for 4.  Damiano Palmegiani was 1 for 4.  Cooper Jones was 1 for 3 with a double.  Martin Vincelli-Simard rounded out the offense going 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI.

The Jets finish 2018 with a 28-10 record and 3 tournament victories.  We look forward to following the progress and careers of our graduating student-athletes.  Once a Jet….Always a Jet!

Jets finish off Missoula Memorial Tournament in dramatic fashion!

 

 

Missoula, MT – 

It was a special Championship Sunday in Missoula.  A match up with the Helena Senators with the winner advancing to the finals vs Bozeman. The game was 1-0 entering the 5th inning when the Jets exploded for 10 runs finishing the game off.  Levi Abbott started on the mound going 5 innings (48 pitches/38 strikes) allowing 0 hit, 0 run, 0 BB’s, 0 errors with 8 K’s.  PERFECT GAME!  This the first Jets perfect game in 12 years.  A tremendous feat by Levi, catcher Shayne Campbell and the entire defense.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Owen Harms who was 3 for 3 with a triple and an RBI.  Ty Penner was 2 for 3 with a double and 3 RBI’s.  Shayne Campbell was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  John Vulcano was 2 for 4 with an RBI.  Cooper Jones was 1 for 3 with an RBI and Evan O’Toole was 2 for 4 to round out a very balanced offense.

Entering the finals vs Bozeman Bucks the Jets ran out Adam Macko who went 6 very good innings allowing 2 hits with 6 K’s and 2 BB’s.  Josh Tardif finished things off going 1 inning allowing 1 hit with 1 BB and 1 K.  Offensively, the attack was well spread out again with Liam Vulcano going 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Ty Penner was 1 for 4.  Kaiden Cardoso was 2 for 4.  Shayne Campbell was 1 for 2 with an RBI.  John Vulcano was 2 for 2 with an RBI.  Cooper Jones rounded out the offense going 1 for 2 with a double and an RBI.

The Championship was the 1st for the Jets at the Missoula Memorial Day Tournament in 3 attempts.

Our attention now turns to a special game with the Annual TCMM game vs the Bulls Wednesday at 7 pm Spitz Stadium.

 

 

Jets continue to play well in Missoula!

Missoula, MT –

The Jets continued their winning ways in Missoula with a 5-1 victory over the Northern Lakes.  Chase Florendine started and was throwing well in the 1st before taking a line drive in the arm.  Reece Keller entered the game and threw very well going 5 1/3 innings allowing 1 hit on 2 BB’s and 8 K’s.  Jared Arnold threw well in the final inning with 2 K’s.

Offensively, the Jets offense was very well balanced.  Liam Vulcano was 1 for 4.  Evan O’Toole was 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI.  Ty Penner was 1 for 4.  Kaiden Cardoso was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and an RBI.  Shayne Campbell was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  John Vulcano was 2 for 4 with a triple and 2 RBI’s.

The Jets now match up with Helena at 12:30 pm at Osprey Field.  If we make the final we play at 6 pm at Osprey Field.

The Jets score 2 runs in the 1st inning and continued with 8 runs in the 4th leading to a 10-2 victory over the Butte Miners.  Matt Wiggins started on the mound going 4 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 earned run with 7 K’s and 0 BB’s.  Thomas Little finished things off allowing 1 hit, 1 run with 2 BB’s and 2 K’s in his inning of work.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Liam Vulcano who was 1 for 2 with an RBI.  Ty Penner was 2 for 2 with an RBI.  Kaiden Cardoso was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Shayne Campbell was 1 for 2 with 2 RBI’s.  Dayton Peters was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Josh Malainey was 1 for 2 and Evan O’Toole was 1 for 3 with a triple and 3 RBI’s.

The Jets will now meet up with Northern Lakes tomorrow at 10 am at Osprey Field.

Walk off to open Missoula Memorial Day Tournament!

The Jets took a 1-0 lead after 3 innings, tied 2-2 after 5 innings and ended up walking off with a 2 out double in the 7th by Owen Harms scoring Evan O’Toole to finish off the 4-3 victory.

Garrett Hawkins started on the mound going 6 innings allowing 3 hits, 2 unearned runs with 2 BB’s and 6 K’s.  Evan O’Toole earned the win in relief going 1 inning allowing 1 unearned run with 1 BB and 1 K.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Liam Vulcano who was 1 for 4.  Owen Harms was 1 for 4 with the game winning RBI.  Ty Penner was 1 for 3 with a big HR.  Kaiden Cardoso was 1 for 2 and Evan O’Toole was 1 for 3 with a solo HR.

The Jets take on the Butte Miners at 11 am at Maverick Field.

Jets finish off the 12th Annual Haven Tournament with a win!

Vauxhall, AB – 

The Jets got 8 runs in the 1st and cruised to a 15-3 victory over Great Falls.  Shayne Campbell finished things with a grand slam in the bottom of the 5th to seal the victory.  Chase Florendine started going 4 good innings allowing 3 hits, 1 earned run with 1 BB and 6 K’s.  Matt Wiggins finished things off going 1 inning allowing 1 hit.

Offensively, the Jets were Liam Vulcano who was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI’s.  Owen Harms was 1 for 3.  Ty Penner was 1 for 2 with a 3 run HR.  Shayne Campbell was 1 for 3 with a grand slam.  Kaiden Cardoso was 2 for 3 with an RBI double.  Cooper Jones was 1 for 2 with an RBI and Josh Malainey finished things off going 1 for 2 with an RBI.

Jets get back on track on Day 3 of the Haven with 2 NO NO’s!

The Jets got back on track with a convincing 11-0 victory over Medicine Hat.  It was another combined no-hitter with Evan O’Toole going 4 innings allowing only 1 BB with 7 K’s.  Jared Arnold finished things off going 1 inning allowing 2 BB’s with 1 K.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Liam Vulcano who was 1 for 1 with an RBI.  Owen Harms was 1 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Ty Penner was 1 for 1.  Shayne Campbell was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI.  Cooper Jones was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Dayton Peters was 1 for 1 and Levi Abbott was 1 for 2.

Game 2 was against the Great Falls Chargers with another dominate performance on the mound.  Adam Macko started and was dominant going 6 innings allowing 0 hits with 0 BB’s and 11 K’s.  Thomas Little finished things off going 1 inning with 1 K.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Owen Harms who was 1 for 3.  Kaiden Cardoso was 1 for 3.  Shayne Campbell was 3 for 3 with an RBI.  Cooper Jones was 1 for 3 with a 2 run HR.  John Vulcano was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles.  Dayton Peters was 1 for 2 with an RBI and Levi Abbott was 2 for 3 with an RBI.

The Jets will play in the final at 4 pm vs TBD.

Tough 6th inning costs the Jets!

The Jets scored 2 runs early but didn’t manage to add much more.  Cardinals scored 6 runs in the top of the 6th inning holding onto a 7-3 victory over the Jets.  Levi Abbott started on the mound going 5 innings allowing 4 hits, 1 run with 7 K’s and 0 BB’s.  Josh Tardif took the loss going 2/3 of an inning allowing 3 hits, 5 runs with 2 BB’s and 1 K.  Reece Keller finished things off going 1 1/3 innings allowing 2 hit, 1 run with 2 K’s.

Offensively, the Jets were led by Josh Malainey who was 1 for 4.  Ty Penner was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI.  Kaiden Cardoso was 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI.  Shayne Campbell was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Owen Harms was 2 for 3 and Dayton Peters rounded out the offense going 1 for 3.

Hawkins no hitter to open up the 12th Annual Haven!

Vauxhall, AB –

It tough conditions on a cool and wet opener to the 12th Annual Haven Agencies Tournament.  Hawkins was absolutely dominate going 5 innings with 12 K’s and 1 BB in the no hitter vs the Lethbridge Elks.  Hawkins also threw a no hitter last season at the Haven Tournament.

The game was 4-0 after 3 innings before the Jets scored 9 runs in the 4th to finish things off.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Josh Malainey was 1 for 2 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Ty Penner was 1 for 2.  Owen Harms was 1 for 2 with an RBI.  Shayne Campbell was 1 for 2 with a double and 4 RBI’s.  Evan O’Toole rounded out the offense going 1 for 1 with an RBI.
