Jets split with PBA on a beautiful weekend in Lethbridge!
Lethbridge, AB –
It was a beautiful weekend in Lethbridge for a 4 game set vs Prairie Baseball Academy. The Dawgs won the first 2 games with the Jets taking the final 2 games for a split.
Game 1 – Dawgs 6 Jets 4
Drew Lenehan started on the mound going 4 IP, 2 hits, 0 runs, 2 BB’s and 4 K’s. Parker Austin threw 2 IP allowing 4 hits with 2 K’s. Offensively, the Jets were led by Cardel Dick who was 1 for 3 with a 2B and 2 RBI’s. Seth Christie was 1 for 3. Colin Fisher was 1 for 3. Brennan McTavish was 1 for 3 with a 3B and RBI. Alex Laurence was 2 for 3. Eric Reiling was 1 for 3 and Luke Wheatley was 1 for 2.
Game 2 – Dawgs 10 Jets 5
Jacob Burgess started on the mound going 2IP allowing 7 hits with 1 K. Pat MacInnis threw the final 4 IP allowing 0 hits, 1 run with 3 K’s. Offensively, the Jets were led by Cardel Dick who was 1 for 4 with 2 RBI’s. Alex Laurence was 1 for 4 with an RBI. Kyle Yip was 1 for 3 with a HR. Colin Fisher was 1 for 4 with an RBI. Brennan McTavish was 2 for 3. Luke Wheatley was 1 for 2 and Ty Clemett was 1 for 2.

Brett Getz threw 4 1/3 IP allowing 3 hits, 0 earned runs with 5 K’s. Hudson Kozicki threw the final 2/3 IP with a K. Offensively, the Jets were led by Cardel Dick who was 2 for 3 with a 2B. Jets get off to a solid start to open the fall season!

The Jets opened the 2022/2023 campaign with 4 victories in the Annual Keith Jorgensen Tournament in Lethbridge, AB. Overall, it was a solid weekend on a very hot weekend in Lethbridge.
Game 1 – Jets 9 PBA 2
Jack Baxter started on the mound going 3 2/3 IP with 1 hit 4 BB’s and 7 K’s. Jacob Burgess threw the final 3 1/3 IP allowing 2 hits, 2 runs with 4 BB’s and 3 K’s. Offensively, the Jets were led by Raphael Ranger who was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Brennan McTavish was 1 for 3 with an RBI. Cardel Dick was 2 for 4 with a double and RBI. Colin Fisher was 2 for 3 with a double. Stevyn Andrachick was 2 for 3. Seth Christie was 1 for 3 with an double and RBI. Alexandre Laurence was 1 for 2 with 2 RBI’s. Patrick MacInnis started going 2 1/3 IP allowing 4 hits with 8 runs. Luke Wheatley threw 1 2/3 IP with 3 K’s. Mason De Ruyck threw the final inning with a K. Offensively, the Jets were led by Raphael Ranger who was 2 for 4. Brennan McTavish was 2 for 4 with a HR and 4 RBI’s. Cardel Dick was 3 for 3 with a 2B and RBI. Ty Penner signs with the Phillies!

Vauxhall Academy Jets alumni standout – 1B Ty Penner (Lethbridge, AB) signed a professional free agent contract with the Philadelphia Phillies. Ty was a 2 year standout for the Jets before moving onto the University of British Columbia. Penner is coming off a monstor year at UBC and a proud alumni of both programs. We are super proud of you Ty! You are a true Jet. Congrats Damiano!!

Celebration of Acheivement a tremendous success!

It has become a tradition of the Jets to celebrate special achievements throughout the 2021/2022 season. A great meal with several presentations and awards was highlighted by the 16th Annual Reno Lizzi scholarship & ring presentation. . In an annual tradition we moved forward with our 9th Annual Celebration of Achievement sponsored by Barbara & Yukio Kitagawa. There were many achievements this year and even more great memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. 2022 spring season was highlighted with a final record of 36-7-2. The 2022 roster also broke the homerun record with 41 HR’s in 45 games. Thank you so much to all our supporters for a tremendous season coming out of 2 challenging years. We want to say an extra special to all our graduating seniors. Your future is bright and thank you for making Vauxhall a better place than before you got here. Once a Jet…Always a Jet.

Jets host Haven Agencies Tournament May long weekend!
Vauxhall, AB –
Since 2006 Haven Agencies has been the title sponsor the Annual Haven Agencies Tournament at Jets Stadium over the May long weekend. The 2022 version has teams travelling from Chilliwack, BC, Abbotsford, BC, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat & Calgary. The tournament kicks off Thursday night with a Medicine Hat vs Jets match up at 7 pm. The tournament continues throughout the weekend with the final game Sunday night. See below for a copy of the schedule.

It was a beautiful weekend for baseball with blue skies and very little wind as the Jets took on the Calgary Bucks and Badlands Academy with a pair of doubleheaders. It was a special weekend with 12 players getting their high school diploma’s on Friday. The Jets came out swinging the bats on Saturday and continued with their second no hitter of the weekend on Sunday.

Jets go 5-1 to win PBA Tournament!
Lethbridge, AB –
The tournament was certainly spread out over 4 days and 6 games to win the Championship on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Spitz Stadium. The Jets opened the tournament with wins over the Lethbridge Longhorns & Webber Academy on Thursday before spliting on Friday vs Regina & Saskatoon. With a 3-1 round robin record set up a semi final match up with Regina. The Jets got out to a commanding 11-1 lead before finishing with a 12-8 victory to advance to the final vs Homerun Academy out of Winnipeg. The Jets came out early in the final taking advantage of several walks scoring 6 runs in the 2nd inning and cruising to a 13-3 victory to win the Championship.
