Despite threatening  pregame rain, the Jets were able to take two from the PBA JV in their second week of action this spring.  Game one at Nolan Yard saw the Jets get off to a good start by putting up a combined 7 runs in the first three innings.  The Jets lead held as they coasted to a 10-5 victory.  A number of Jets contributed but the offence was lead by Matt Rath who scored 3 runs on 2 hits and added a stolen base to a solid game. Jordan Drey was the driving force in the 4 run second inning when he hit his second HR of the spring, collecting 3 RBIs and 2 runs himself. Jordan Malainey also had a big game going 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs, 2 runs scored himself and 2 stollen bases. Victor Cerny topped the multi-hit players with two singles and a double in four at bats.   Shawn Grandmont had a double and two stolen bases while Brett Resch beat out an infield single.  On the mound, Josh Burgmann faced the minimum in his two innings of work giving up one hit who Cerny gunned out at second, no walks and recording one strikeout.  Wesley Moore relieved Burgamann for the next two innings giving up 3 runs on 3 hits, 2 walks and 2 hit batsmen.  Garrett Nicholson threw the next 1.1 surrendering 2 runs, 1 of which was earned, on 2 hits a walk and recorded 1 K.  Ben Erwin came on in relief and threw a solid 1.2 only facing 4 clean batters while punching one of them out. In the end, the Jets scored 10 on 11 hits with only 1 error while the Dawgs scored 5 on 6 hits and 5 errors.

Game 2 needed an extra inning to settle a back and fourth contest with the Jets edging the Dawgs 9-7.  The Jets were held off the board through the first 5 innings before putting up 9 runs in the remaining 3.   Jordan Malainey had another strong contest going 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored and a stollen base. Demiano Palmegiani went 2 for 4 including a big RBI single that pushed the Jets ahead of the Dawgs for the first time all game in the sixth. He finished with 3 RBIs, a walk and a stolen base.  Jordan Drey, DH Victor Cerny, Jared Binsfield, Spencer Rankin and Shawn Grandmount all had a single a piece, most notably Dreys’ single that scored Liam Vulcano to add an insurance run in the top of the 8th to make the score 9-7.  On the defensive side, Carson Perkins set the tone by striking out 3 in his two innings of work.  He held the Dawgs off the pillows outside of two walks in the second.  David Richards had a nice bounce back weekend going 1.2 with one hit, a walk, and 2 unearned runs.  Bryce Fraser took over for Richards, also only allowing 2 unearned runs and a walk on two hits while recording one punch out. Brandon Hatley threw the 6th, giving up 1 unearned run on one walk, no hits and two strikeouts.  Jalen Lane sniped the win throwing the final frame plus the needed extra, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits, a walk and 2 strikeouts.  The final box line had the Jets recording 9 runs on 10 hits with 5 errors while the Dawgs put up 7 on five hits and 3 errors of their own.
