Jets finish off Dawgs & A’s for a repeat championship!

Okotoks, AB – 

The semi final was a good game on both sides.  The Jets took an early lead and held on behind some solid pitching and timely hitting.

Luc Hebert started on the mound earning the victory going 5 innings allowing 5 hits, 3 runs, 2 earned runs with 1 BB and 8 K’s.  Jesse Borden got the save going 2 innings allowing 1 hit.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Justin Clarkson who was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Jager Toffan was 2 for 4 with an RBI.  Anthony McKinley was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Nolan Bumstead was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s.  Brayden Resch and Jose Calderon chipped in with 1 hit each.

The championship saw the Jets go up on Okanagan A’s early and never looked back.  JP Stevenson threw a complete game on the mound allowing 6 hits, 2 runs with 1 BB and 1 K.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Joel Mazurkewich who was 2 for 5 with a double and an RBI.  Justin Clarkson was 1 for 3.  Jager Toffan was 1 for 3 with a double.  Anthony McKinley was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Nolan Bumstead was 1 for 3 with a double.  Jose Calderon was 1 for 4 with a double.  Nolan Rattai was 1 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Mike Holmes was 1 for 2 and Treyton Grant was 1 for 1 with an RBI.

Tournament MVP and top hitter award went to Justin Clarkson.  Nice job all around fellas!

Next action is the 7th annual Haven Agencies Tournament starting Thursday night when the Jets take on the Lethbridge Elks 7 pm.
