Jets lose 2 to open Vegas trip!

Las Vegas, NV –

The Jets suffered a couple of loses to open up their Las Vegas trip.  Tuesday night the Jets opened against one of the top HS programs in the USA.  The Jets jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the top of the first inning and the Gaels scored 16 unearned runs in the bottom of the 1st.  Final score 21-5.

Logan Seifrit and Luke Whelpton threw in the first inning and neither pitcher allowed an earned run but in total their was 16 runs that came across. Jesse Borden threw very well in relief going 2 2/3 innings allowing 3 hits, 3 runs, 0 earned runs with 3 K’s and 1 BB.  Tanner Spencer threw the final 1/3 of an inning with a BB and K.  Offensively, the Jets were led by Konner Lutz  who as 1 for 3 with a grand slam.  Chris Thibideau and Jason Field each added a hit.

Game 2 saw the Jets play Dublin, CA.  The Jets only allowing 2 hits and lost 7-2.  The Gaels from Dublin only mustered 2 hits. Zach Mayo started on the mound going 3 1/3 innings allowing 0hits, 5 runs with 6 K’s and 6 BB’s.  Brandon Radmacher went the final 3 2/3 innings allowing 2 hits, 1 earned run.  Offensively the Jets were led by Mitch McGeein who was 2 for 3 with a solo HR and an RBI.  Chris Thibideau, Jager Toffan, Matt Benn and Devan Thomas all pitched in with hits.

The 2 loses puts the Jets record at 7-6.  Next action is tomorrow at 8 am vs Irvine, CA.
