Jets take 2 from Badlands Academy!

The VAB Jets got on the winning track with 2 convincing victories over the Badlands Baseball Academy Badgers by scores of 12-2 and 14-0. 

The Jets out hit the Badgers on the day 25-5  in front a very good crowd in Oyen. 

Game 1 pitching line:

Logan Seifrit 2 IP, 1 Hit, 2 BB’s, 5 K’s

Luke Whelpton 2 IP, 2 Hits, 2 Unearned runs, 2 BB’s and 2 K’s

Jesse Borden 2 IP, 1 Hit, 1 BB and 4 K’s

Offensively, the Jets were led by Dan Moro who was 3 for 5 with 3 RBI’s.  Chris Thibideau was 2 for 3 with a double and RBI.  Konner Lutz was 1 for 4 with a 2 run HR.  Guillaume Gingras was 2 for 4 with a run scored.  Matt Benn was 2 for 4 with a double, 2 RBI’s and 2 runs scored.  Jason Field was 3 for 5 with a double, 2 RBI’s and run scored.  Devan Thomas has a huge game going 3 for 5 with 3 doubles with 2 RBI’s and 2 runs scored.  Travis Wallace was 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored.

Offensively, the Jets capitalized on several Badger walks.  Dan Moro was 1 for 2 with 2 RBI’s, run scored and an SB.  Guillaume Gingras was 1 for 4 with 2 RBI’s and a run scored.  Mitch McGeein was 1 for 4 with an RBI and run scored.  Devan Thomas capped off a productive day going 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s and 2 runs scored.  Travis Wallace was 1 for 3 with 2 runs scored and an RBI.  Jose Calderon was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and an RBI.  JG Weeks was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI’s and a run scored. 

The doubleheader sweep pushes the Jets record to 2-1 overall in the fall.  Next action is Friday night after the 5th Annual Scotiabank Golf Tournament vs University of Calgary Dinos at 5 pm. 

** The Jets had some professional training on Saturday to get ready for the game as former Jet – Steven Inch (2007-2009) and 6th round Phillies prospect threw intrasquad to the Jets.  He is getting ready to head back to Clearwater, Florida for Instructional League
