Jets Defeated 9-6 by Riverton HS

Las Vegas –

The Jets drew the early game today, playing at 8am at Bishop Gorman High School’s exceptional facility against Riverton HS from Utah. The Jets lost their second straight, falling 9-6. It was much of the same as the past two days with walks, free bases and lack of hitting in the ladder part of the game being the Jets downfall. For the third straight day the Jets spotted their opponent a first inning lead as Riverton jumped ahead 2-0. The Jets didn’t respond until the third inning when they put together three runs on Matt Benn’s two-run single and a Greg Adams’ RBI single. Riverton stormed back in the top half with a grand slam home run over the left field putting them in the lead for good. The bottom of the fourth is when the Jets would last put multiple runs on the board in an inning with an RBI single from Travis Wallace and a groundout RBI from Blair Balog immediately following that. The Jets threatened in the bottom of the 7th when down 9-5 but only could put one run across on three consecutive singles from Fagnan, Adams and Kendall.

The Jets look to rebound later today at 3:30 with a game at Valley High School against an opponent yet to be determined. The Jets are 0-2 for the tournament and 0-3 on the trip bringing the Jets record to 6 wins and 6 losses on the spring season. Keep following on Twitter for live updates in-game @VABjets.
