4 current and 2 former Jets go in the MLB Draft!

Vauxhall, AB –

 

It was a great couple of days for the Vauxhall Academy of Baseball in the MLB First Year Players Draft.  RHP – Steven Inch (Edmonton, AB) led the way as the highest ever selected Jet in the 6th round 197th pick overall by the Philadelphia Phillies.  Inch was the 3rd high school player drafted in Canada and the 4th overall Canadian selected.  Inch has committed to play at the University of Kentucky of the SEC Conference.

 

3B – Adam Nelubowich (Stoney Plain, AB) followed up Inches selection in the 14th round 413th pick overall by the Seattle Mariners.  Nelubowich was the 4th high school player selected and the 7th overall Canadian selected.  Nelubowich recently committed to play at Washington State University of the PAC 10 Conference.  

 

Former Jet LHP – Jay Johnson (Sussex Corner, NB) and currently attending the PBA in Lethbridge was selected in the 25th round 746th overall by the Baltimore Orioles.  Johnson was the 15th player selected in Canada.  Johnson has committed to play at Texas Tech University in the Big 12 Conference.

 

RHP – Brandon Petite (Glace Bay, NS) rounded out the day with being drafted in the 30th round 911th pick overall by the Houston Astros.  Petite was the 10th high school player selected in Canada and the 19th overall in Canada.  Petite has committed to play at Texas Tech University in the Big 12 Conference.   

 

C – Dale Anderson (Strathmore, AB) was selected today in the 45th round 1354th pick overall by Texas Rangers.  Anderson was the 32nd player selected in Canada.  Anderson in currently playing at the College of Southern Idaho.

 

RHP – Jordan Wong (Calgary, AB) was selected today in the 46th round 1396th pick overall by the Milwalkee Brewers.  Wong is the 34th player selected in Canada and the 21st high school player drafted.  Wong has committed to play at Hill CC in Texas next fall.
