Jets win the 2nd annual Jets Invitational!

The final game of the Jets 2nd Annual Invitational Tournament presented by Haven Agencies had a taste of everything.  After the game being tied until 6th inning, 2 players ejected (1 from each team), quality hitting and oustanding pitching the game finally saw the Jets come out on top 3-1.

Austin Cooper started on the mound going 4 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 unearned run, 0 BB’s, and 3 K’s.  Cole Stober threw a scoreless 5th inning allowing 1 hit, Jamin Heller threw a scoreless 6th inning to earn the win and Tyler Vavra threw a scoreless 7th inning allowing 0 hits, 0 runs, with 1 BB, and 2 K’s to earn the save.

Offensively, the game only saw 10 hits total with the Jets getting 6 of them.  Adam Nelubowich ended the game going 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI, Mark Clauson ended the game going 2 for 3 with a game winning RBI double, Lionel Morrill was 1 for 2 with a double.

The tournament victory extends the streak of tournament titles – 4 tournaments over the last 2 years and 2 tournament titles.

Mark Clauson ended the game as the MVP.

Brandon Petite, Dale Anderson, Lionel Morrill, and JC Paquin will be departing to the Dominican Republic with the Canadian National Junior Team on Tuesday night.  The entire VAB is very proud of their accomplishments and wish them all the sucess.  They will miss the remainder of the season.

The tournament title pushes the Jets record to 30-5.  Next action is the Tommy Talliff Tournament in Great Falls, Montana beginning at 6 pm on Friday vs the Great Falls Stallions.
